Duran Duran definitely had more longevity than Spandau Ballet.

Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet for me although I also like Talk Talk. I thought about pitting Duran Duran against Spandau Ballet only for this death match but thought it unfair to omit the others. I opted for these two but agree Talk Talk are great as well. If it were Duran Duran vs Spandau Ballet I would honestly be struggling to decide. I would go for Duran Duran over Spandau Ballet as I like more of their songs.

Very sad, by all accounts a gentleman. I think the events with his grand daughter and those two oiks on all the front pages aged him over night. He was devastated and rightfully so. Rest Andrew, and thanks for the laughs. What I think of them is unprintable and wouldn't be right in an obituary thread. I will just say Andrew Sachs had more talent in his little finger than those two have combined. RIP Andrew

Apologies in advance to our foreign friends for this death match as this is a very British affair. That said, many young Brits today probably have no idea what half of the above options are anyway (myself included). There are plenty of traditional British Pub Games out there, many of which arguably died in the 1970s and 80s. You'll catch some on old TV shows from the period - "Indoor League" is top of that list. Nevertheless, some have continued and these days many are tucked away in regional parts of the country - e.g. The World Shove Ha’Penny Championships were held in Shepton Mallet in October 2015. Anyway, which game/type of game did you/do you still enjoy playing the most down ye local drinking establishment? Pick THREE!I had that book at one time. I also had various other books in that range like Darts, Snooker & Billiards, Card Games etc. I voted for cue games, darts and quiz machines but like them all. I did have a shove ha'penny board at one time. Some pubs still have a bar billiards table.

I also did 'The Cuban Missile Crisis' at school ace5150. I must say though, great leader or oppressive dictator? Politics is here thus I'm with daz on this one ... no comment. Then you'll know after overthrowing Batista and setting up a socialist regime, turning it communist, Geuvara wanted to go to South America to continue the 'struggle'. Castro sold out and stayed in luxury in Cuba. Che Guevara was killed in 1967, a revolutionary till the end.No he wasn't. He ran away in his last battle and left his comrades to die. He bottled it like Hargreaves in the Sweeney episode 'Taste Of Fear'. He was a coward who begged for his life after being captured. He told his Bolivian captors he was worth more to them alive than dead. It didn't work as they executed him anyway.

Daffy Duck is funnier than Bugs, IMO Save100% I agree with you two ladies, I think Daffy was better than Bugs. I still liked Bugs mind. I never really liked Elmer Fudd though. I preferred Yosemite Sam to Elmer Fudd.

Not really a twosome, but I always enjoyed Scooby Doo, when Shaggie and Scooby were being chased around by the baddies of the episodes. Shaggie and Scooby were usually together when the gang split up to investigate.

Tom & Jerry and Dastardly and Mutley for me. T&J's a classic. Very funny. Mammy Two Shoes too. Re: D&M, I wasn't a fan of the pigeon, so the fact they tried to kill it was cool. I voted for them as well. I wanted Dastardly and Muttley to catch the pigeon. I like the other cartoons on the list but D&M and T&J are my favourites.

Coy and Vance were given the same scripts meant for Bo and Luke. No revisions were made, no attempts to make Coy and Vance stand out as unique characters were tried. No wonder Tom Wopat refers to them as "the clones". He is correct. Cherry and Mayer didn't have a prayer. Viewing figures plummeted and Schneider and Wopat were asked back. The episode which saw the departure of Coy and Vance was a joke and the writers couldn't wait to see the back of them. They were written out before the first ad break! Thanks for the info jno.

I felt sorry for the actors who played Coy and Vance as they were in a no-win situation as they were always going to be compared unfavourably to Bo and Luke.
It was similar to the 2nd series when there were guest sheriffs instead of Rosco as James Best was on strike over disagreements with the producers.

I have zero recollection of this Telethon. Don't tell me who the presenter was. I guess Tidy Beard. I know who the presenter was but won't say it. It wasn't Tidy Beard.

Sorry to hear this. I did like 'You Spin Me Round' at the time. Stock Aitken & Waterman were not well established in 1985 - their dominance which emerged (to produce cheesy songs for TV stars) has meant that 'You Spin Me Round' has become associated with this, and overlooked as a song in itself. Also, Dead Or Alive did not really build on the promise of this song. RIP Pete Burns. They did have a few other Top 30 hits but most people think of them as a one-hit wonder which is a shame.

'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)' is one of my all-time favourite songs and my favourite Stock, Aitken and Waterman record.
