Saw that interview and she did seem rather sanguine about the estrangement. You don't know how much of a front that was.

Looks like she quit acting in the1980's, which was a sad loss to the profession. I know her best from The Saint episode The Desperate Diplomat, which is very good.

I think everybody wanted Wile E. Coyote to get Road Runner. They were great cartoons and I don't think they were initially aimed at children. If you look through early 1970's ITV listings, you can sometimes see them as a filler in the evening. Foghorn Leghorn was great and Fred Elliott was a great nod to the character.

Excellent episode, with the Terry and Arthur banter at it's best. Dave doing his Jimmy Young impersonation is a highlight. I like the guest stars here, even though Carol Ashby's accent is all over the place. She sounds Welsh at some points. I liked her fight scene. She could have made a good replacement for Terry.

A very good episode with a strong script. The scene with Justin(e) trying to act hard with Cooper, who thought he was a "gluesniffer with permanent brain damage" was classic. The Jones v Rycott rivalry works well here. Excellent guest cast. I know they must have been on good terms but I reckon Patricia Maynard probably enjoyed handbagging Dennis in a great scene at court.

This is an ace clip of Bruce at the 1974 FA cup final. He got the crowd of 100,000 in the palm of his hand.

A true legend in UK entertainment for a very long time. Good game, good game. RIP Brucie. Famous Forsyth catchphrases "I'm in charge." "All right, my loves?" "Good game, good game!" "Nice to see you, to see you nice." "Give us a twirl!" "Cuddly toy, cuddly toy!" "OK, dollies do your dealing." "You get nothing for a pair!" "What do points make?" "Didn't he/she do well?" "You're my favourite." "Keeeeep dancing!" My favourite was "You're a much better audience than last week" That's a cracking in-joke.

Great episode. Ronald Fraser was brilliant as Self Inflicted Sid. The Jones Rycott rivalry is good here, though the jury's out whether Jones' (quick) promotion was the correct thing to do. His new DC was very unmemorable though. Rycott's fall was brilliantly done. Justin(e) was also in fine form here. Great guest cast here, Roy Kinnear looked very large. Ken Farrington had a 20 year on-off role in Coronation Street as Billy Walker.

I think it's an enjoyable episode and I don't mind Richard Briers in his role. The rest of the cast were very good too. Like jno, I thought Rycott and Jones worked well together and had this been filmed before series 7, they might have gone with this partnership. Jones also had a decent haircut at last. The scene where Rycott spots Arthur and Terry in the tank is one of my favourite scenes in the series. The main blot for me is Chisholm's breakdown at the end, which was too OTT.

It does occur to me 'Richard the third', as in, bird, but doesn't seem right, I'm sure it meant prostitute, so must be something else. I think there is a sketch in an episode of the 'Two Ronnies' in which Ronnie Barker delivers, deadpan, a speech composed of rhyming slang where he refers to Richard the Third (meaning bird) a number of times. I can't remember anything else but for some reason his use of that phrase stuck in my head. The little brown Richard the third...

As I've got closer, I've been looking forward to seeing this again. Too many great scenes in it to mention and the superb guest cast, with Maurice Denham's Meredith Gascoyne being one of my favourites, not to mention the lovely Debbie Arnold. The big fight scene on the Orient Express before Terry, Arthur and Nicky leave is possibly a bit too close to farce but that doesn't spoil it. Can't think of many greater TV shows for Christmas night than this. Surely it deserves an outing on TV occasionally.

One of our finest actors. I'm planning to watch at some point, Edward VII, where he plays Prince Albert. I hate that most of the announcers can only align him to a certain Children's film franchise! 😡 www.BBC.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13783739RIP

A good episode, slightly spoiled by the unpleasantness between Terry and Arthur. Best scene is where Chisholm is uninterested following Arthur's mugging. I also liked Arthur linking the Cartier watches to footballer Raich Cart(i)er. Scooter was a great character and the sight of him clearing off from Chisholm in a Harrod's van was a great touch. Mel Martin was a good guest star as Caroline. Her hairstyle aged her a bit, compared to her appearance in a Bergerac episode two years earlier. The ending was a sour way to end the series (as planned at the time) I'm sure viewers couldn't wait for the Christmas episode...

A very amusing and enjoyable episode, although I found the actual plot with the Russians a little bit thin. The spy references, Deighton, KGB and even, The Professionals are all superb. When Ernie tells Dave that Sergei is Russian, Dave's reply of "I'd hate to see him slow" or words to that effect. Arthur's description of Nigel as "a bald punk" is hilarious too. Nice to see Michael Goethard in a rare light role as Sergei.

Top notch episode. Good to see Scotch Harry again. Might have been nice if Rycott was in this one to add to the continuity. The scene where Chisholm thinks he recognises him is good. The highlight though is when Terry and Arthur are taking Harry to hospital. Every piece of dialogue in that scene is brilliant. Special mention for John Bluthal, who is perfectly cast as Solly. Pat Roache becomes the fourth of the seven Auf Whiedersehen, Pet to appear. Shevaun Bryers, who played the nurse was very pretty but doesn't seem to have acted since an appearance in The Bill in 1987.

Not seen it but I've been intrigued by The Secret Service since I saw the Supermarionation documentary. Must say though, that I never really got Stanley Unwin. One of those you either love or are baffled by!

I'd have thought a fellow Thames show. Remember when they used to go to someone's house in The Bill (probably on the Jasmine Allen estate) and it always seemed to be Count Duckula on the TV?

I'm surprised there aren't more comments on this one. It's a superb comedy episode by the brilliant Tony Hoare. Nice to see Mark Farmer making his second appearance as Justin(e). Great scene between him and Terry at the car lot following Arthur's "suicide". Good to see John Alkin turn up as the journalist. Great scene with Dave at The Winchester "Arthur didn't have a big brother" Priceless Chisholm and Jones are excellent in this one and nice to hear mention of Rycott. The scene with the bust at the end is magnificent!
