I think we should replay this Death Match and include the Robin from Maid Marian And Her Merry Men (1989-1994)

I went for The Big Match (74-80) plus "other" - I liked TBM theme prior to 74 as well , plus my current fave is from the cricket highlights on Channel 5 - seriously good Mod Hammond organ groove in the style of Brian Auger Trinity ! I'm thinking you're referring to the original Big Match theme... Rather than this one, which sounds like it should have belonged to a sitcom starring Richard O' Sullevan Granada Kick Off also had a comedy style theme too.

Arguably the real star of those Emu shows.i I'm certain a lot of kids were scared by her in the day.

Yes, I should have remembered Marcus, also arguably Derek Martin, who was also in ...Scratchwood and his odd cameo in The Bounty Hunter.

Not quite a classic this one. I preferred the storyline of the dodgy phones rather than the Jan Francis part. After seeing nearly every episode of Boon over the past few months, it felt odd seeing David Daker without his Bilston accent. Is Daker the first actor to reapppear as a different character? beating Rula Lenska and half the cast of Minder On The Orient Express. I did like Peter Capaldi's role here. Interesting suggestions about him becoming a future Minder... Poor Terry has no chance when faced with Peter Brayham and a few heavies. The stunning Debbie Arnold elevates this one to good.

Start of the "final" series and it's a good one. Excellent guest slots from James Booth and Norman Eshley. Chisholm and Jones are now regulars and I'm sad at the lack of Rycott in this series. Highlight in this episode is Chisholm and Jones getting arrested.

I was looking forward to seeing this one again and it's an absolute classic. Too many classic lines in this one. I love where Arthur claims that Daley's Deal has "more steaks through it than Dracula". Great to see Rycott and Chisholm together. I wouldn't argue with anyone who said that this was the best ever episode.

Very good episode, but have to agree that it peters out. First time I saw this one was the ITV afternoon repeats in summer 2000. I'm not sure if UK Gold showed it as I recall most other series 5 episodes from then. Another who thought the bloke was John Forgeham. Justine(e) was a great character, who could have been annoying but the writing and the late Mark Farmer keeps him the right side of likeable.

I actually think the episode is very good, if a little disjointed with the two story lines. The carpet cleaning is the better one. The cigar distaste is a great comic plot, leading to Arthur's great line "That's the trouble with Havana's since Castro took over". A bearded Frank Williams looks different as the Tobacconist, though the voice gives him away. Great guest cast here, Donald Sumpter, June Brown, Nicola Cowper (looking very nice), Ray Burdis and Asian legend Renu Setna. Seems to have been a long winter in 1984 as all except Goodbye Sailor seem to have been filmed in wintery conditions. Due to industrial action, the episode wasn't screened on all regions on the scheduled date. Granada showed it at 21:15 on New Years Day 1985.

Very good episode. Interesting to know that David Yallop wrote both this and An Independent Man in 1996, which is almost a continuation of this. I imagine the political goings on here are very true to life. Caroline Langrishe is rather lovely. Interestingly, she was cast, and shot some scenes, as the kidnapped girl in The Professionals' Long Shot but was unavailable for reshoots so the part was recast with Judy Matheson. Meic Povey gets listed on the start titles for the first time. I can understand the ending not being everyone's cup of tea but it doesn't bother me. Bare trees make this another episode to be filmed in early 1984.

Just watched episode 5 of 'The Capone Investment', stopped it and Sky News came on saying he'd died. Sad news, so much more than Last of The Summer Wine and very much looking forward to the finale of 'The Capone Investment' next Sunday on Talking Pictures TV. RIP Peter Sallis P.S. More Cheese Gromit I've not seen episode 5 yet, but having seen the edited 'movie' version, I can say that he steals the end scenes and I'm sure Barry will agree with me.

Very good episode. You can always rely on Tony Hoare to come up with the goods. Picture Quality's a bit of a grainy one. Great to see Rycott and Melish again, this was only Rycott's 7th appearance. The receptionist Gra966 refers to is Tilly Vosburgh, playing it more glam here. She often plays downtrodden roles, including a 2 year stint as an MS sufferer in Eastenders in the late 90s. She appeared in only the third ever episode of Grange Hill (according to IMDB)

Good looking lady. Such a shame about the contract problem with her agent. I'm sure she'd have had a good acting career if it weren't for that.

My eyes welled up as well. The Carly Simon theme felt so apt and I know this was his favourite Bond film too. Reading some of the tributes in the Sunday magazines today, I think someone should write a book on Sir Roger, where people share their recollections of him. There were a couple of excellent ones on Brian Clough a few years ago (150 BC and Clough Confidential) and they are very good,

Bit of a nothing episode. Beryl Reid is excellent here and good to see the lovely Fiona Mollison but the story doesn't really go anywhere. Writer Geoffrey Case also wrote Windows in series 4, which I didn't like either.

Also some "lower key" ones like Andy Parsons,Mark Steel spring or mind. I keep meaning to check out Mark Steel. I've heard bits of his "...In Town" show on radio 4 and liked what I've heard.

Best Les Dawson joke for me was when a bloke tells him:- "There's five blokes beating up your mother-in-law. Aren't you going to help?" "No, I think five's enough!"
In 2000, we had a Christmas night out at Jongleurs and I tried to get off with the comedienne Mandy Knight. I failed but she did buy me a drink.

I saw his show in Southport last year and I'm gutted I didn't upgrade to a meet and greet. Sir Roger rarely spoke bad of anyone, though he did say one of his favourite Bond moments was seeing Grace Jones getting blown up and I think that says more about her. I read an interview with Annette Andre recently, where she told of a director on The Saint being harsh with her and Roger sorting him out. Will be sad for a while.
