No one played a Sgt, Major as well as he could. Whether it be in It Ain't Half Hot Mum or Terrahawks. Such a shame that his best loved role will probably never be seen on TV again, because the programme is now considered to be un-PC.
A great and underrated actor.

"After he gave an intense performance as Eddy Black in The Saint in 1964, Roger Moore described him as his personal favourite villain, but Sutton eventually tired of working on seemingly interchangeable crime series – while making a 1970 episode of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), he even tore up a scene and rewrote it with his co-star, Norman Eshley."
Dudley's first film role was in 'The Boys' in 1962, for which The Shadows wrote a few tunes. I saw it on TV about 11 years ago (mainly watching it to hear the Shads' tunes) but found it an engrossing film. Highly recommended.

RIP. Was only after digging out his excellent Sweeney appearance in Golden boy last week. Great actor. Strangely enough, I am in the process of watching The Sweeney series 1 at the moment (I watch one ep. a month) and Golden Boy was the next episode due to be watched...

A good Sandra episode is 'Full Circle' from Year 1. Some of the cast were less than enthusiastic about going out and filming in Black Park in the winter and some managed to actually wriggle out of it. But not Zienia! Even when she realised that she would have to be running around through the woods dressed in animal skins she went for it and, by all accounts, didn't complain. For this alone, it's a defining episode for her.
Later tonight I intend to watch the Jason King episode in which she appears - appropriately titled (by no coincidence I'm sure) 'ZENIA'. Might watch 'Full Circle' too...

R I P. She came across as a genuinely nice person and she lit up the episodes of Space: 1999 that she was in.

He made some great films and had an incredible screen presence. I remember going to see him in Hooper circa 1978 at the cinema. I'm sure this film inspired The Fall Guy. Last thing I saw him in, I think, was Boogie Nights. Deliverance - what more can one say. Sad to hear he's gone.

This from several years ago, when I had the great pleasure of meeting Jacqueline in Derby. I shall be watching an episode tonight.

Sorry to hear this.
I met her a few years ago and she signed a Blake's 7 DVD for me.
Servalan was one of the best sci-fi villains (big screen or small) of all time. And Jacqueline played her to perfection.

Had my back waxed a couple of times and 1) it is agony, like being tortured and 2) the hair does NOT grow back as thickly and is definitely diminished by the process. Nothing is funnier than seeing a man getting waxed when they show it on tv. It shouldn't be funny to see a man crying out in pain, but it is. Funnily enough, the girl who was doing it thought so too... she couldn't stop laughing!

I hate shaving. I do it as rarely as possible. I once borrowed a friend's aftershave and when I put it on, it felt like I had just splashed my face with acid. I swear to you, I was on the bathroom floor screaming for about ten minutes. Well, maybe five. Never again. I always manage to cut myself with a razor anyway. Nowadays I just use clippers.

Go to the hairdressers about twice a year. Have been known to shave it all off when bored.

I'm sure I've seen Bodie in there at least once, it was on a Saturday afternoon during a televised Liverpool v Spurs match that the pub were showing. To be fair though, he was only drinking Britvic 55 and didn't seem interested in playing darts or fighting.

I think Bodie should be on this list too - seeing as he can obviously disarm a potentially dangerous situation and make a big, nasty biker sh*t his pants and back down just with a glare. ('Wild Justice'). And, of course, together with his trusty partner in crime, can see off a bunch of them without so much as breaking a sweat. ('Mixed Doubles'). His omission from the list is, therefore, shameful and should be explained forthwith.
In the absence of our very own William Andrew Philip, I would probably nominate Evel Knievel. Then, if it really gets nasty, we can hop on his bike, jump through the (upstairs) window and escape over the roofs of a dozen stationary London buses. If there's room for 'Raven' on the back of the bike as well, all the better...
Additionally, I would choose Jean Jacques Burnel, as I've heard he's a bit 'handy' and once knocked Hugh Cornwell through a wall, and Terry McCann.

Thanks! Brilliant! I will obviously take that as a compliment... as I'm sure would Colin!
Funnily enough, over the years I have been (visually) liked to:
Terry Wogan, Petrocelli, Kevin Spacey, Bob Hoskins.
oh and one or two other things that I can't mention here.
And now Edward Woodard.
Funny how no-one ever says I look like Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise or George Clooney. Oh well.

Ta. Yes, it turned out well and dear old Colin was a good sport! The photo we are holding (and trying to re-enact) was a candid shot taken in 1991. I think it's fair to say that we have both changed somewhat during the intervening years! I now see that Colin signed it '2015'. If only!!!

It's simple. The Producers of Doctor Who from the start of the Pertwee to mid Tom Baker era, Sherrwin, Letts and Hinchcliffe, great directors, great script editors, two charismatic doctors, solid companions, memorable enemies. Always going to be the best. The show has never sustained those heights since on a frequent basis. FordCapri: No time for Colin Baker's Doctor? Ah, old 'sixy'. I think Colin Baker had great potential as the Doctor. He is a good actor and I think he genuinely hoped to give it his all. Sadly, he was let down from the start by bad scripts and, in particular, a bad costume. For me, most of his stuff is now unwatchable, not necessarily because of him, but because in every other respect, it is a complete mess. I'll admit that I liked 'The Twin Dilemma' episode 1 and 'Vengeance on Varos' episode 1. Also, I'll admit that 'Revelation of the Daleks' is pretty good in general. Other than that, I wouldn't rate any of his stories as even good. I feel sorry for him. He seems like a nice guy who was more or less used as a scapegoat by the BBC to explain the programme's dwindling viewing figures - when there were plenty of other things to blame. He was the sacrificial lamb, as it were. Colin Baker could have been really good as the Doctor but, as things turned out, he tried and failed (in the face of overwhelming odds and opposition). And here is a photo taken of myself and Colin in, I think, 2015. As I say, I like the guy, I rate him as an actor and I know he cares passionately about the programme - but for reasons many and varied, his particular Doctor is not one that I can watch with much pleasure! Sorry Colin!

What about Jodie Whittaker?
It's not even 'early days'. We haven't really seen her in any meaningful way yet. For me; Doctor Who ceased to be credible as soon as this PC-tampering reared its ugly head. Sadly, Doctor Who is now being used as a pawn in a game and I'm not willing to play that game. I have serious reservations about the new 'showrunner' and I for one won't be watching the new series. I suspect that I will not be alone in that respect. Sorry, but I am old-fashioned enough to think that if the Doctor was meant to be able to regenerate into a woman, then it would have happened a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. They are just pandering to a very vocal minority, which is a shame.
For me, Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee and Baker T. will always be the best. Davison I can accept but I have little time for the others. And NO TIME for Jodie Whittaker!

Now THIS, is very interesting... www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/named-after-wine-gums-fortune-1403499I'll admit that 90% of this, maybe 99%, was totally unknown to me! I knew him as Selwyn Froggit in the mid 1970s (haven't seen it since, but I remember it being very funny at the time) and I've never seen anything else he's been in, apart from the Alf Garnett film. And that episode of The Sweeney of course! Obviously a very talented guy.

Batman, obviously!
Superman wasn't really heroic or brave, if you think about it. He could fly, he had x-ray vision, he was strong enough to lift a continent, he could withstand the blast of an atom bomb, he was indestructible and living on a planet where, by comparison, the dominant race was nothing more than insects. Oh and if things got really bad - like his bit of stuff got snuffed out - he could even turn back time by contra-rotating the whole f*cking planet! He was always gonna win every time.
And Batman's costume was cooler too. And his enemies were better.
P.S. And I've not even mentioned the Corgi Batmobile. F*ck yeah!!!

I actually saw them both (Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks) at... wait for it... The Memorial Hall in Cleethorpes, circa 1976. They were both very, er, large. Not sure which was coolest though. Mum said that Giant Haystacks frightened her, but that she liked Big Daddy. So, a vote for B.D. it is.

Back in 1996 I stayed with a couple of college friends for a few days in Cambridge. The house - which actually belonged to a brother in law or something - was impressive to say the least! What was perhaps more impressive was that Stephen Hawking lived next door. I kid you not. I actually saw him in his wheelchair (with his entourage) coming towards me as I was walking across (I think) Coe Fen.

I used to love the Diddy Men. I am told that his live shows were exceptional and he would go on stage at something like 8 o'clock in the evening and be on until midnight or later!
End of an era.

I voted for Dad's Army, as I remember going to the cinema (in Basingstoke!) to see it with my dad in 1971. It was very faithful to the TV show, especially since it seemed to comprise a condensed version of several episodes. Very good. I saw The Alf Garnett Saga recently on Youtube... very odd. I can't in all honesty vote for any of the others, although I did see one of the On The Buses films about 12 years ago and found it to be funnier than I expected! I think it was 'Holiday...'.
