Brilliant actor. He and Tom Selleck were a great double act the same way as Waterman and Cole in Minder. I too thought he was English until I found out he was American. When watching Alias last year, I was surprised to find that the actor David Anders is also American as he too played an Englishman convincingly.

A lad at school used to sing "It's Seanie Seanie Seanie Seanie Seanie's show" as he was a big fan. I do remember watching an episode in 1992 or '93 and he said the f-word which was a bit surprising as I didn't think he'd get away with it, especially on Channel 4.
He was funny on Never Mind The Buzzcocks. RIP.

Great actress and had lots of great stories on the show. A real matriarch with heart.

Ubiquitous character actor who passed away a few days ago. British-born and started off making guest appearances on the likes of Fawlty Towers then moved to America where he starred in the big action adventure shows of the day such as Airwolf and The A-Team. Usually played villains and turned up in quite a few B movies. I don't know exactly what the cause of his passing was but first heard about on Facebook. www.imdb.com/name/nm0357036/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Halsey

There ought to be a channel that shows repeats of these 2 shows. In the US, F/X repeated Vega$ in the '90s.

I know. He was great as Oscar and appeared in many other TV shows. I'll never forget his turn as a doctor in the Knight Rider pilot.

I think it's a shame Lalo Schifrin couldn't score more series 1 episodes. They added to the gritty, dramatic nature of those early episodes. It would have been nice if there was an official Film Score Monthly release of his work for S&H, including the pilot and The Fix.

I thought he was a very informative and insightful critic of cinema, the best on TV. I think the reason he stopped doing the Film programme for BBC1 was because he was getting fed up of Hollywood becoming more and more commercial, i.e. selling to the masses with its special FX, romcoms, average scripts, lack of actual quality, etc. He must have missed the '70s and '80s really badly.
I can remember him saying on TV-AM that Ben Johnson should be banned from sports for life as a result of his drugs scandal at the Seoul '88 Olympics.

I remember seeing a Sweeney tribute video which had Back With The Boys Again as its theme tune, but not long after, it was taken off.

R.I.P. Adam West. I originally saw the TV series in its 1976-77 re-run and I was a big fan. I had the toy set (batmobile, batcopter etc). That's when my brother watched it as well and he used to pretend to be Batman by wearing a long shirt round his body like a cape. I remember the movie being on BBC1 in the summer of 1984 and then ITV repeating Batman on weekday mornings when TV-AM was off-air in early 1988 due to a strike. When it returned, on popular demand, they continued showing Batman. Adam West could have had a bigger career outside of The Caped Crusader, but he didn't mind at all being famous for it. He even wanted to play the character in the 1989 movie version! RIP Batman.

I liked him in Corrie. Great comic actor and it was great seeing him return in 1995 just when Bet was about to leave. He remained for another 3 years and I can remember when he and Ken Barlow (I think) set up the Golden Years dating agency. He also used to wind up the Duckworths.

The Spy Who Loved Me is one of my all-time favourites. Lots of action, Moore at his most charming and witty and there's a great scene where his Bond is confronted over the death of Anya's lover. Roger played that very well with a lot of heart, something I don't think Connery would have quite been able to pull off.

Surprised there's no Smith & Jones, Hale & Pace, David Baddiel, Rob Newman, Fry & Laurie and Punt & Dennis in that list. Those are the comedians I grew up with. What about Alexei Sayle? Not everyone's cup of tea but he used to make me laugh.

I might possibly shell out for Crossplot. Made in 1969, I believe it was sort of a dry run for his James Bond role and he even wears a tux in it. Might also watch The Man Who Haunted Himself.

Someone at work just told me . The first James Bond I ever watched and one I grew up with. He was my brother's favourite. His best 007 films were Live & Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only. I reckon Diamonds Are Forever would have suited his style to a tee.

I always thought he should have guest starred on The A-Team. It would have been great seeing a Starbuck/Apollo reunion. Perhaps Richard could have been cast as another con artist like Face or a long-lost Vietnam buddy who wasn't part of Hannibal's crew.

www.metv.com/stories/rip-richard-hatch-the-battlestar-galactica-star-dies-at-age-71The original Captain Apollo has made his last ever flight into the unknown . I remember watching Battlestar Galactica as a kid back in the 1980s when ITV used to show it on Sunday afternoons. It was also interesting seeing The A-Team's Face in it as well. Richard Hatch was also Michael Douglas' replacement in The Streets Of San Francisco.
