I voted Average for this one - it doesn't seem like a typical Minder episode as the relationship between Arthur and Terry isn't established as yet. It would probably be a Good for any other series but by the high standards of Minder, it's not a classic IMO.

A real character who was on TV a fair bit in the 80's.
RIP.

There was a deluxe edition of The Autumn Stone put together a couple of years ago but hasn't seen the light of day (and according to someone who worked on it, it never will either because of the label dispute) so there's still some stuff out there, albeit different mixes, mono/stereo etc. I'll try and post up some images of that magnificent box set from 3 years ago when I get a moment. It really was a work of art.

I wish there wasn't such a big problem with their back catalogue so we could get more deluxe box sets. The last one was fantastic but wasn't even available officially in this country which, quite frankly, is ludicrous.

I went for Tin Soldier a smidge ahead of All Or Nothing although any of them is fine by me.

The 16.9.80 dates are obviously the same on those boards but it seems a bit odd that the one for sale is scene 99 and the other one is 100? Would they have more than one board per set up?

Bill Tarmey? Seriously? Had to go for Alison Limerick, purely for "Where Love Lives" - a classic house tune, plus Dead Or Alive as I used to see Pete Burns a lot in Liverpool and Mel & Kim as I spoke to one of them on the phone once (Mel) and I quite liked "Respectable" and "Showing Out".

Not my favourite genre of music but I always liked Ultravox. So did I....until John Foxx left.

Talk Talk (I personally wouldn't class them as New Romantic though ) and AFOS for me. A couple of stone cold classics in Life's What You Make It and I Ran seal the deal.

Sad news that 'Manuel' has left us at the age of 86.
Brilliant in that role in Fawlty Towers.

Been on holiday this week and been listening to a 'Gold' station which played Rubber Ball and 'Thousand Eyes' quite a bit. I've got a strong memory of ITV (or Granada at least) running a film he was in, which I think must've been Just For Fun, after Fireball XL5 and The Champions in the school summer holidays in about 1983.
RIP.

Shocked by the news - I used buy my records from him and his wife Lynn in Probe in Liverpool when I was in my teens. It was no surprise that he became a singer and I saw him perform with his first band Nightmares In Wax before he went on to form Dead Or Alive. They had a very different sound to their SAW days and their 7" single 'I'm Falling" b/w probably my favourite b-side ever, "Flowers" (neither of which you'll find on the forthcoming anthology box set. Harumph.) is quite simply superb.
RIP Pete la', you lost your way in recent years but you were a true one-off.

Yes, I used to see him fairly frequently around Hackney in the 90's and he was in a bad way then. I'm amazed he's lasted this long to be honest.

She was actually doing a photo shoot for a local photographer who'd asked her if she'd like to visit the locations 50 years on.

I'm not convinced either way on Morris - it's a fascinating story but he does like to encourage the speculation about what he might have found apart from The Web of Fear and The Enemy of The World.

White Room and Strange Brew for me. Love that scene in Life On Mars in the first episode where they walk the recently arrested killer down the police station corridor accompanied by Clapton's guitar solo from White Room.
