He was playing with them when he met Astbury. I think they were both on the bill the first time I saw Southern Death Cult - supporting Bauhaus in about 1982.

But unfortunately not soundalike. I was glad Densmore took them to court over the use of the name.

Saw them a few times in the 80's when they were called Southern Death Cult and then Death Cult before they trimmed the name even further. Still got the original vinyl singles and 12"s somewhere. They're were very good by the way.

Easy choice: the 3 I grew up watching: Troughton, Pertwee and Tom Baker. ....is the right answer.

Blimey, another shocking death. This year really has been terrible in that respect and we're only half way through.
52 is far too young to go. RIP.

Watched a few not so long ago and they're still brilliant. So much better than the dross churned out for children today.
RIP.

DB5, Esprit and DBS in that order.

I've got the Carlton sets which at the time looked stunning in terms of picture quality, but now look a little tired as we've been spoilt in recent years with vintage TV on BD.

No but it does say 'soon' plus Andrew Pixley is doing the viewing notes so if it wasn't a no brainer before, it is now. Plus there's mention of Invasion UFO meaning the compilation film might also be included. All good as far as I'm concerned.

Tough, very tough. Some great shows there, and The Adventurer. Department S was my first choice and then it was close between R&H and UFO with the latter just edging it.

Probably my second favourite episode behind Poetic Justice, Innit? The office block where Jack introduces Terry to Neville was also used in the Man In A Suitcase episode 'Who's Mad Now?'

Get It Right for me - loved watching this on a Friday night back in the 80's and that song brings it all back. Loved the opening titles as the Central globe logo dropped from the screen into the roulette wheel before we see Dennis draining a pint, Neville running down a hospital corridor and then with Moxey jumping over the prison wall and Wayne driving around in his BMW, it just evokes the series for me.
Does anyone remember when ITV chopped the episodes in half and were showing them in 30 minute slots prime time twice a week in a bid to beat Eastenders? What a disaster that was.

What Time Is Love? for me (that's my choice, not a question!) Bill Drummond was Echo & The Bunnymen's manager in the early 80's before forming his own band.

All 4 of them recorded some great stuff post-Beatles which is testament to just how good they were (and I include Ringo in that) so it's a tricky choice. I've gone for Macca (just) because whatever else you say about him, the man can certainly write a catchy tune and a decent love song, sometimes combining the two. Maybe I'm Amazed is just a brilliant song but there are so many others such as Another Day, Silly Love Songs, With A Little Luck, Listen To What The Man Said, My Love and of course, Live And Let Die. Cheesy though it is, I don't even mind Mull of Kintyre but I draw the line at The Frog Chorus.

That's Entertainment for me although I could easily have picked any one of 8. I just like the simple, quieter, acoustic nature of it from a band better known for powerful, driving chords. Any other bands have the same word in three consecutive singles like The Jam did with 'World'?

Just watched Essay In Evil (of course!) as a tribute. One of the best episodes with some superb action sequences.

I must admit, I thought he was born in 1937 as well but that's probably because the first ever article I read about him in the mid-80's gave that as his year of birth. I'd like to think that some of the British papers will run an obituary, if only for his appearance in The Untouchables.

Well, if Andrew Pixley is going to be involved in the Network release then we can be confident that the original order will be restored.

Channel 4 for me - The Avengers (at 8pm on a Saturday night IIRC!), The Prisoner, The Tube, Whatever You Want, Prospects, One Summer, Brookside, Budgie, Brond, Saturday Night Live, The Comic Strip Presents, The Mysteries of Edgar Wallace, Johnny Staccato. Some great memories watching those.

Originally, yes, but it was later included as part of subsequent transmissions. As I tried to say above but failed, for some reason the line, "Rosewood, mahogany, teak?" was missing from the original DVD release. Presumably it was edited by a foreign broadcaster for reasons of time but the BBC used that copy for the DVD release. Thankfully the later release had it reinstated.
I quite often use Fawlty-isms in day-to-day conversation - only yesterday while offering someone a drink I asked, "Large or....not quite so large?" Not sure they got why asked that though.....

Great story about Johnny telling her off. I've still got some of her early albums and singles somewhere - Ieya, Sheep Farming in Barnet etc.
