I remember settling down to watch this as a 20 year old , or might have recorded it, as I might have been rugby training?!?... anyway, thought I’d be open enough to give it a go, I can honestly say that I never watched another episode after this, although I do remember watching one with Gina McKee in it, I do catch parts of these ITV4 repeats, but just never got into them. I caught a bit of today’s episode, playing a football match on a rather run down football ground.

I actually thought he had passed away before, for some reason. Obviously well known for a certain track..... I remember John Peel being livid about a gig of his on e that had a poor turn out, sad story & sad news , a truly unique and very talented guitar player.

Well, in theory I was more into EMF, Blur, Primal Scream, The Shamen etc in that period, but I also bought the first two Prodigy albums. I liked them, and they remain evocative of their period. 'Charlie' was interesting, but by and large a typical rave record, but the immediacy of the single 'Everybody In The Place' got me and I was hooked. Always liked The Narcotic Suite from ...Jilted Generation, especially the mad-flute interlude. Don't think Keith featured on the record though? He wasn’t such a key member , more of a dancer in the early days. a great tribute to him on 6 Music earlier. I think, with the exception of Marc Riley , and possibly Gideon Coe on Mon to Thurs evenings, 6 Music is at its best on a Sunday & Saturday morning , through to Liz Kershaw finishing at 3. i on the other subject,I was more of an indie man, back in the day - but did appreciate Prodigy, especially the first two albums, although in the era of their first album, I was more appreciative of KLF, circa 1991, than Prodigy. Still great though - Fat Of The Land was a real break through album, even though I was more into other stuff .

Watched this again the other day, really is a great episode and story line. You really want Terry to hit off with Dolly, but he just doesn’t seem to be in her expectations, and his distractions don’t help. Barry is a really conniving character and gives the episode so much, Dolly has - what was then a brand new Audi Coupe on her drive, a pricey car back in 1981.

Always wondered why there's no ? after the title. Me too. Probably due to being a statement, rather than a quaestion - if my ‘O level’ English serves me correctly!.....

Yes, I looked up the opening titles on YouTube a couple of years ago and it instantly brought back memories of what for me was a golden age of The Tour - Lemond, Fignon, Delgado, Millar, Theunisse, Breukink etc. (although we now know that most of their performances were erm, enhanced) and it’s testament to Shelley’s theme that it can instantly evoke such memories. Yes, a great era for cycling, before the bull sh1t factor kicked in. Always preferred it as a minority sport. loved watching it on C4, it suited the stations left field image perfectly

Always a great episode for me. It was good to see ITV4 hadn’t cut this so much! The conversation between Arthur & Terry, Talking about Maltese Tony’s past is often cut. Also good to see Tony & Imogen’s excursion on the peddle boat, I have to say that was a pleasant sight!......

Watched it again on ITV4 this afternoon I’ll get around to having box sets one day. A great episode - far more comedy than some other episodes, just a little lacking in a couple of moments. Great script and cast though. Jones is on fine form - 4/5
