They were certainly some side that Ipswich Town team and Beattie was one of many great players in and a real fans favourite by all accounts and for me you no matter how many trophies you won or the wealth you generate in your career nothing could ever mean as much as being hero worshipped by the fans of club you love, money could never buy that honour only hard work and dedication seen through the eyes of the fans on the terraces gets you that honour.
63 years in no age.
RIP Kevin

Well said Daz. I sometimes envy you and Arch supporting a traditional club with limited resources with squads that just want to play the game and to please their crowds. You certainly got that with Ipswich Town.

He was a fine player , not just a tough defender but extraordinarily skilled and talented. Had he not been cursed with injuries he would doubtless have been a regular member of the England team for many years
RIP Sir

I didn’t realise he had passed away until I read an archived interview with him & the great Billy Bonds. RIP, a fine player, who had much bad luck during his life.....
