Big age. In at the start of the Sweeney and the end of (Dennis years) Minder. His battles with Jack Regan in series 1 were stand out moments. Good excuse to stick on Jackpot or Queens Pawn BD in coming days. Also played a great role in ‘Visiting Firemen’

Obviously and goes without saying, an awesome show, for a very long time. I watched it for years after leaving school! Tucker an obvious contender, Benny for his unique ways of getting around being bullied and not being able to afford football boots and having a good head on his shoulders. Trisha & Cathy were also great characters, as mentioned some later characters were also great - in particular Danny.
Also, don’t forget that a certain Mark Farmer who played Cathy’ s brother.

I'm trying to picture Michael Doyle. Wasn't he Tuckers' arch enemy or something? Yes, he was & had a bit of a pasting once, for nicking an old gun that was brought in for art.

Also, whilst on this subject - wasn’t Andy Gray of Villa, Wolves & Everton another noted hard man in that Talk Sport feature?
A FB Plymouth Argyle group led the tributes to him, with a series of photos in Argyle and mainly Ipswich days, along with an Arsenal and England photo, no Pompey one though….. I wonder why!?!….

I had an Ipswich strip to wear for school football when Bobby Robson put together those great sides in the late 70s. The Blues had a real charisma about them then, with Paul Mariner, Alan Brazil, John Wark, Arnold Muhren, etc. What a team that was. Good times. Indeed, they were a great side in the era. Only slowly declining after Robson left to manage England. I remember you telling me that story about him intimidating players in the tunnel, didn’t he also used to “backwards head Butt “ at corners, clearly recall the Talksport story. They concluded that him, Lampard senior and Billy Bonds were amongst the hardest of the hard (but fair in the later two cases) of the era, amongst many hard men.

Sad news, with a Plymouth Argyle link, both as a player and briefly manager. He was a very useful centre forward, probably could have gone to a bigger club, whilst with the ‘over achieving ‘ Ipswich team. Obviously went to Arsenal. Also remember seeing him playing for Pompey at Argyle in 86/87 season.

I am actually combining the two, along with downloads. I made a pact that I wouldn’t buy anymore CD’s from the start of this year, due to the low value of them, and so far - I haven’t despite one of my cars having a 6 CD changer, along with Bluetooth audio and DAB radio, I still think they take some beating for sound quality and versatility. I still use a hi fi at home, and to not have CD’s would render that quality Technics system pointless. I bought a new record player a few years ago and keep that in a different room. I buy occasional vinyl, partly for the novelty factor and combine with listening to my older purchased vinyl for a change. I listen to so much radio, that I wonder why I buy music though! I also buy a lot of music through I tunes, especially one off tracks, but also find albums good value, and am buying ever more on I tunes now, being able to play it through Bluetooth in the cars and on my Sonos in the house. Music has always been my main passion, over reading , TV and film and shows no sign of that changing.

Sad news, decent guy, good player and a better manager than people remember him for. He was doing a decent job at West Ham, and I think the onset of his illness was the start of the downfall .

Yeah, Nigel Trathen had one. You could still get a 1300L well into Mk 3 Capri. There was a calypso green one around Truro up until quite recently V reg I think.

I've always wished that Terry had a 3 litre Capri. I reckon he would have liked one and seen it as the car of choice for a 'lad about town' such as himself. It would have been good to see Terry 'tear-arsing' around in a V6, even using it to his advantage in some car chase scenes which could have been written into the series. Yeah, you always feel he got a bit of a ‘half arsed’ car, I never really got to see the point in any Capri that wasn’t a 3.0 or later 2.8i. Despite the obvious appeal of the likes of a 2.0 Ghia or S to some folk. I always found it strange that for a long time they offered a full range like any other model with base L , GL, S &Ghia. The S was always my favourite, but nowadays,I’d take a 3.0 Ghia, in a nice metallic, tomb stone seats and auto box. Must be getting old(er).... back to the episode - this is a great episode, I have watched this episode a lot more than many others , many years ago, as Barry the Book had this on a double video from WH Smith or Woolies with Gunfight at OK Laundrette and I obviously watched it a lot more.

As Barry the Book says, it can depend on subject and teacher quite significantly. The problem with on line is that you can see or read something incorrectly and that is that, you won’t “see it” differently. The same can be said for hearing, and that applies in the classroom, or hearing a virtual class. I am hard of hearing myself, and can sometimes miss hear things. I often use the subtitles for Teams etc when at work.

I ticked 10, for varying reasons. I like the feeling of Christmas coming, having a bit of different food and drink in the house. Bit of relax and family time. My favourite bit is the ‘nothing bit’ between Christmas and New Year. I hate the sales, and New Years Eve is over rated.

A shame that he passed away, mind you we've still got Lance Armstrong, Ben Johnson, Shane Warn and Sharapova although I'm not sure these beat up their partners. Not been confirmed - anyway, Sean Connery was also reported to be a wife beater, but I don’t read much about that.....

Purely by chance, yesterday I found my programme from Clem’s return to Anfield in May 1982 and there’s hardly any mention of him in it at all - apart from a reference to him having already faced us in the League Cup Final and his name on the teamsheet on the back: Great post, as also mentioned, I thought Hansen at 10 (midfield) but as said Lawrenson was often played in midfield, also for Rep of Zireland, as did Paul McGrath sometimes. two excellent line ups there, especially Liverpool, no wonder they dominated the 80’s
