Toby Hadoke has reported the sad news that Morris Perry has died. He was another actor who will be well known on here for Minder, The Professionals, The Sweeney (and Sweeney!), Special Branch and Doctor Who amongst a host of other appearances.
RIP.

Sad news, I was aware he was still living and living to a good age, and only seem in an old episode of Persuaders or Protectors a week or so ago.

Big age. In at the start of the Sweeney and the end of (Dennis years) Minder. His battles with Jack Regan in series 1 were stand out moments.
Good excuse to stick on Jackpot or Queens Pawn BD in coming days.

I’ve merged the two threads we had running. I seem to remember that he was known as 'Mr Bollard' at one time because of his campaign against car parking in Hampstead. Does anyone else remember this? I can’t find anything about it in a cursory search.

Best remembered by me for his part as “The Man” in the 1971 short film The Insomniac. Very cool. About this guy who can’t sleep and wakes up one night and discovers a tranquil new world outside, where it’s broad daylight while the rest of the world are still asleep. The only problem being this reverse daytime is populated by sinister men in dark glasses out hunting those who should be asleep.
RIP Morris, sleep now.

Maynon was a good character, who on balance should have appeared in more episodes of 'The Sweeney'.
Morris Perry also appeared in many other things, including a lot of ITC and Euston.
R.I.P. Morris Perry.

Maynon was a good character, who on balance should have appeared in more episodes of 'The Sweeney'. I'd agree with that, Maurice Perry brought a real steeliness to the role. Unlike Haskins, Jack had a tough time trying to pull the wool over his eyes. You get the impression that Maynon might have been like Regan as a younger officer and knew all the strokes, short cuts and dodges that street coppers like to pull.

I thought he passed away a few years ago, but a good innings.
Remember him well from the above mentioned roles, but his appearance in Survivors is a particular favourite of mine.
RIP
