Allo Allo ran for ten years, which is a good run. Gorden was very good in it.

I was also wondering why he never appeared again. maybe his availability was limited, hence they created Arnie.

Jane Merrow was great in Mission Highly Improbable, aka Irwin Allen's favourite episode.

Excellent episode. Pete Postlethwaite made Oily Wragg a very likeable character. Always good to see the brilliant Peter Childs as Rycott. Some very good fight scenes in this one and Arthur's scenes (falling asleep at Terry's, hiding from the villains in the Winchester and of course, falling into the Thames). Sadly, this was to be the last appearance by George Layton as Des.

I can't remember the game, but Lineker hadn't scored for a while as he was closing in on Bobby Charlton's goal scoring record (48 to 49) "and that included a missed penalty in one of the friendlies before (v Brazil?). It was noted that loathsome Lineker didn't do MOTD on the night when all the tributes were paid to Taylor. Bitter to55er! There may have been other reasons for the lack of Lineker on MotD, but if that is the case.... You're spot on Zimbo, that is bitter It could be coincidence but having seen Lineker sniping about it over the years. I wouldn't be surprised if the "humanitarian" booked a last minute Barbados holiday.

He did make some odd choices and got a slagging for taking off Gary Lineker in that match against Sweden in Euro '92. But he was still a nice bloke and very likeable. Lineker was rubbish in that match. I'm not surprised he took him off. I think he was right to. Lineker was annoyed because it was his last game for England. Tough! He should have played better. I can't remember the game, but Lineker hadn't scored for a while as he was closing in on Bobby Charlton's goal scoring record (48 to 49) "and that included a missed penalty in one of the friendlies before (v Brazil?). I've never heard of Small Faces or any of these songs before. Now's a great time to learn!

I think we could add Gary Lineker to the list nowadays. His view about those being concerned about the "child" refugees, accusing them of being racist, officially made him a humanitarian according to the left. To me, he comes across as a champagne socialist of the highest order, who is desperate to try and impress the left. His presence on MOTD annoys me as he comes across as smug.

'I'm Only Dreaming'. It's an amazing song.
I know number 1's aren't a measure of quality but it must have been a great day when All Or Nothing hit number 1 in September 1966.
Weird to think Steve Marriott didn't think his voice was that good, hence he only sang half the songs on the 2nd album.

Wow! Thanks jno. You don't mess about. I heard All Or Nothing on the radio yesterday and thought it would make a great death match., although I now think there's a runaway winner, which was my choice also.
I'd like to give a special mention to the B side of Itchycoo Park...

I voted for Diana Rigg but what I like about this poll is that there is no wrong answer. Each lady is worth voting for. Spot on. They were all lovely. It has to be said though that Joanna Lumley probably aged the best.

Linda Thorson for me. Met her a couple of times and she's a really nice lady with plenty of time for fans. That's great to know. You have to feel a bit for Linda, replacing Diana, who had such presence. She was only 21 or so too wasn't she? Those last lot of episodes are excellent and I think the original series went out on a high. If it wasn't Linda, what would everyone have thought of Jane Merrow as Peel's replacement?

Didn't know that was what he died from. What a horrible condition. Like motor neurone disease, the mind stays active but the body just stops working. I think Dudley Moore had it too.

A-Team - the drums are good, it's just that after that it sounds like it was done on a cheap korg keyboard.

This is a really good episode with some good humour. Dave's face when Arthur is explaining the "Dartagnan" meaning is a picture. Michael Graham Cox (the Ron Atkinson lookalike) played the corrupt inspector in the final series of The Gentle Touch.

Another good, if a little sedate episode. Excellent guest appearance from Nigel Davenport, Michael Medwin and Kika Markham, looking very lovely. Brief appearance from Ronny Cush, who played PC Lyttleton in series 2 of The Bill and seems to have quit acting after that. Edit. This is what he did later... ronnycush.wixsite.com/ronnycush/about

Yes, that series 1 Magnum theme tune isn't great compared to the famous one. The last season reworking of The A Team wasn't as good as the original.

'Down In the Tubestaion' for me. "My life swam around me, it took a look and drowned me in it's own existence. The smell of brown leather,it blended in with the weather. It filled my eyes, ears, nose and mouth,it blocked all my senses, couldnt see, hear, speak any longer ....." Surely amongst the best lyrics ever written? Great minds, Barry!
