Sad to hear about the passing of Peter Sarstedt, the guy who sang "Where do you go to my lovely" aged 76 after a six year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare neurological condition.
RIP Peter

Didn't know that was what he died from. What a horrible condition. Like motor neurone disease, the mind stays active but the body just stops working. I think Dudley Moore had it too.

Yes, an unpleasant way to die indeed. 'Where Do You Go To' remains a great, resonating song. RIP Peter Sarstedt.

I heard about this on the Tom Robinson show last Sunday, who was playing stuff indluenced or linked to Bowie and asked listeners to think of a link between the two in order to play it. Bowie and Sarstedt, both won Ivor Novello awards in 1970, so 'Where Do You Go To' was duly played. A well crafted song which will live on forever.

Although 60's music isn't my era I do like 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely' he actually had two singles the follow up being 'Frozen Orange Juice' which reached number 10 in 1969.

My late grandad (who was born in 1912) was probably not keen on the changing cultures of the 1960s as a whole. But he did like 'Where Do You Go To (My Lovely)' a lot.
