Another great episode. It's a fun change of pace to see Arthur and Ray away from the manor and it's good to see Dave have a larger role ithan usual. Lot of fine moments through out the episode. Arthur in the French jail is a series high point! Watched this again tonight and was surprised by my reaction compared to my previous comments. I found it rather slow and dull this time. I still like the change of pace with it taking place in France and Dave have a larger role.

Watching this again. Still one of favorite episodes. This time I was amused at how “Pizzaman” is used like a proper name. I also enjoyed how Arthur explains all his dealing to Dave and then asks him to tell Ray. I like how Dave reduces the complex scheme down to ‘Arthur’s stuffed’.

A dependable character actor that, as mentioned, could easily go from comedy to drama. Rest In Peace.

Sorry to hear this. I saw her at the Monster Bash convention in October where she was one of the guests. The table where she was meeting fans and signing autographs was quite popular. She was friendly and having a good time. Later, when I was going back in to the main room she was coming out to take a short break. I said hello and told her I thought she was very good in Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed. She thanked me and said I was very kind. She was gracious and obviously appreciated her fans. Classy Lady.
Rest In Peace.

I know the name but have seen very little of his work so I read up on him. He had quite a career and leaves a solid legacy. That he worked that long in show business and no one has any thing bad to say about him speaks highly of him as a man.

www.BBC.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-59606993I was always interested in The Monkees' story, and also intrigued that they were (supposedly) quite friendly with The Beatles They had their ups and downs over the years but I think were far better musicians than they were originally given credit for When Nesmith met John Lennon he asked him flat out if he thought The Monkees were just a cheap imitation of The Beatles. Lennon answered that he thought The Monkees were the greatest comedy team since The Marx Brothers and that he never missed their show. I believe Nesmith and Mickey Dolenz visited the Abby Road Studios during the sessions for Sgt. Pepper.

Another early Nesmith gem performed live by The Monkees in 1967.

Loved his Doctor Who book covers. So much better than the ones used for the Americanized reprints. Rest In Peace

One of the first songs he wrote and produced for The Monkees. He wasn’t allowed to play on his own songs then but was thrown a bone by being allowed to produce it. According to Peter Tork, Nesmith was able to slip him into the sessions as one of the guitar players.

Sad news , I always enjoyed their TV show and as has been previously mentioned , they were an unfairly underrated band who made great 60s Pop RIP Sir Nesmith is sadly underrated as a song writer.

It’s kind of weird. The night before his passing I was listening to some of the songs he wrote for The Monkees. His early solo stuff is very good. I became a fan of The Monkees when I was very young watching the reruns on CBS Saturday at noon. Always enjoyed the show and the music.
Rest In Peace Mr. Nesmith. Thank you for all the music and entertainment

Mike was certainly the most talented out of the bunch. My mum actually knitted me a green bobble hat in the early 70s, even though I wasn't a fan of The Monkees. It was claimed Nesmith's mother either invented or started the company Tippex. RIP Mike Nesmith His mother did invent what we call White Out over here

Watched this for the second time and liked it even less. The fifty minutes felt much longer. Not really a bad episode, it just seems to be missing something.

I enjoy this one a great deal. I like that it’s made clear that Ray is inexperienced rather than incompetent. Arthur’s magical filing cabinet is a series highlight.

Based on the title I didn’t remember anything about this episode when I sat down to watch it again last night. Not a great episode but a very good one packed with great Arthur Daley moments. Watching his reaction after seeing “Silence of the Lambs” is still amusing. Doubly so, as he’s only gone there to watch the Pathé newsreel that hadn’t been shown in cinemas for about forty years at the time! I was wondering how long it had been since Arthur went to the movies. 😊

George Cole must have been very happy when he read the script for this episode. Lots of great lines and moments for Arthur and an all around great episode.
