Clifford Rose, who will probably be best remembered for playing Ludwig Kessler, in the Wartime TV series Secret Army (1977-1979), sadly died yesterday, aged 92.
Clifford Rose, also appeared in many other TV programmes, including Callan, Special Branch, Van der Valk, Doctor Who (Warriors' Gate), Kessler (sequel to Secret Army), Minder (The Balance of Power) and Inspector Morse.

Superb as Kessler. I couldn’t recall the broadcast dates but the thread dates indicate I really enjoyed Secret Army as an 8 or 9 year old. My youngest is 9 and the thought of her watching Secret Army today boggles the mind. The lack of channels at the time probably lead us all to watch programmes such as Secret Army at fairly young ages.
RIP

He was very good in Callan. RIP Saw the Callan documentary This Man Alone recently and he's very good on his alter-ego Dr Snell, a man without morals or restraints. Think he was from my part of the world, went to school in Worcester and later lived in the Leominster area.

A good actor and also founding member of the RSC, whose protrayal of Kessler was simply superb acting and one of my all time favourite series.
RIP
