Yes,well spotted - as you say,the Capri looks like a "L or at best GL" model. That Granada also looks like an earlier example of a Mk 1 than one of the very last ones. I gave it a 4/5 - not quite the perfect 5. Great episode though. It was showing the signs that it was as much to revolve around Arthur than Terry. They did rely heavily on attractive women on a lot of episodes! The ending scene is great - showing Terry at his very & ruthless best!

Diane Keen does look a little Greek. She was/is an attractive woman. I gave it a 4/5 - lacking a little to make it a 5/5...... On the car front - her VW Scirocco GLS was a very nice motor,I always promised myself one years ago, there were a couple of reasons - one being very high insurance for a 1600cc car & two - corrosion,as this example proved,a 1978 car last taxed in 1986! They were built in the Karmann factory, never known for rust resistance for any cars produced there,I read this some years ago & I was tipped off about this, whilst taking a leak in a nightclub toilets years ago by a scrapyard owner, who overheard me talking about them. He said the rear chassis just rotted to oblivion - leaving nothing for the rear suspension to hang on to! Also - being built there, they were very expensive - that 1600 GLS model was a top of the range model (the equivalent of a Ghia Ford) but cost almost as much as a 3000 Ghia Capri & more than 3000S.

I felt I was slightly charitable giving this 4/5 - all round it's a fair reflection. There are a few moments that are a bit silly - but there were also some very fine moments, too.

Blue just edges it - despite the brilliance of "The White Album" & Sgt Peppers,Help is my favourite studio album though & that belongs on the Red compilation

Funny how he bumps into him,in central London so often!....... Not a bad episode - but a bit week in areas. I noticed the Matchbox models in the shop - Barry The Book & I would've been drooling over those, back in the day - even now!

I've mentioned this before - Barry The Book,we went to Par train station to watch the train pull into the station & turnaround! Remember seeing them - stretching their legs on the platform, whilst the engine turned around. Still have photos ( at parents house) somewhere!

Just watched this on ITV4 - for the 101st time! All good stuff though. A great episode & you can see why the early examples had the intended higher emphasis on Terry being the main character ahead of Arthur. Some great locations & cars used. Loved that early Scirocco outside the office of Fenton's. High quality cast & decent & as said - more believable storyline. Also spotted a Fiat Mirafiori,Citroen CX & another fave - an Alfasud Ti!

3 to the obvious ones make a strong case,Lennon for Imagine album & the excellent Instant Karma. Macca for Band On The Run & the greatest Bond song ever in Live & Let Die Harrison's All Things Must Pass was another masterpiece & for this (just) gets my vote.

Tesco - because they are run by eurest & the prices & choice are poor.
They are all slow at M&S,Sainsburys & Waitrose - but at least you feel like yr getting some quality.

Yes-not the greatest finish to Terry's tenure. I still watch these ITV4 repeats - but not now,we're in Ray era again & I can't stand them!! I gave them a go,back in 91 - but hated them as much then as I do now! I'd rather watch Magnum!

Love this one & always have. Watched it numerous times & it was one of the few I had videoed off the TV years ago. Was it me - or was it "less cut" than usual? There seemed to be a couple more of the scenes that I don't recall seeing in previous ITV4 repeats.

I don't remember the Xmas special, for some reason?!?
Think my fave from this series was "Fiddler On The Hoof" just ahead of "Sorry Lorry Morrie"
