Anyone who doubted his ability as a actor -- no one on this forum -- should look at the different types of roles he's had since becoming a child star. It's one heck of a CV.
Another unique aspect of Dennis' acting, he's never really been stereotyped or typecast in one genre. His roles have gone from 'William' (adaptation of Just William) to a Mod in Up The Junction, to horror films to the Flying Squad, Arthur Daley's sidekick, comedies etc etc etc.
I'm hard pushed (as I'm typing this) to think of another actor with such variety than Dennises back catalogue of work.
Also, add in the charity work over the years and he came across as a genuine individual.

For very obvious reasons, Terry McCann character will always be fondly remembered.
One of my favourite films of its genre is Up The Junction. Always liked 'kitchen sink' dramas and this is one of the finest.

I like this episode a lot. It ticks most my boxes: Jimmy Nail at his acting peak; dodgy council workers (nothing new in that) and a randy undertaker, played beautifully by June Whitfield. The story and script was so set-up for her & Chisholm.
Good fun 50 mins

Quite like this episode on number of levels: Des writing out a dodgy MOT for a car that's only fit for scrapyard on the Wold; the first time you see the lovely Debbie; Terry takes a drunk in the old banger; Arthur has a melt down in the office of Candy Cabs....
Favourite scene:
Arthur's reaction when Debbie walks over to the window starkers. Classic

Growing up he always seemed to be on every panel show I could think of. They would always call him the comedian Barry Cryer but I’d think “never seen him do stand up”. Nevertheless he seemed a very knowledgeable bloke who had a very witty way on all those shows I saw him on. RIP Barry Cryer He was a comedy writer. He'd write sketches for more famous people than you can shake a stick at: Morecombe & Wise, Billy Connolly, Kenny Everett, Les Dawson, Rory Bremner, The Two Ronnie's, Richard Prior, Dave Allen,Tommy Cooper... it would be easier to name who he hasn't written for. He was a writing colossus. Yet he once said, "I was lucky".

Not too familiar with many of his films. That said, I really like "To Sir, With Love".
Clearly a very good actor.

There was quite a bizarre story surrounding John Miles. In the late 70s when the Police were searching for the Yorkshire Ripper, John Miles gigged in the same towns as the crimes took place, he was questioned by CID. Because, presumably, he wrote a track called 'Nice Man Jack' from the Zarrogon album, the Police put 2 and 2 together and came up with 25.

Have to admit the TV shows were quite zany.
Think one of the reasons for them being underrated is because every interview, their post-heyday period, when asked about them being a manufactured band, most of them, especially Davey Jones, would get quite cross -- which was pretty funny seeing his half-smiling, half angry face. Dolenz tried to joke his way through the question. But Peter Tork and Nesmith were pretty realistic about their fame IIRC.

Mike was certainly the most talented out of the bunch. My mum actually knitted me a green bobble hat in the early 70s, even though I wasn't a fan of The Monkees.
It was claimed Nesmith's mother either invented or started the company Tippex.
RIP Mike Nesmith

R.I.P. John Miles.
I saw him in concert in the late 1970s at Wimbledon theatre. Also have 3 albums (Rebel, Zarragon & More Miles Per Hour)
The lyrics to the track 'Music' sums up my love of music

One of the best "last of the Terry" episodes. I like the notion that Terry gets Taff to look into dodgy bureaucrats. Still think the episode misses "Cheerful Charlie" Chisholm. That said, I think he would lay an egg at the thought of Taff helping out Terry to expose corruption that would exonerate Arthur.
Downsides? Don't like the Justine character...

Difficult choice, because I very much like CD's and Vinyl, I have got lots of CD's, LP's, Singles & EP's, I will have a good think. I used to buy LP's (Box Sets) and a lot of CD Sets, from Reader's Digest, now and again, I buy LP's, Singles or EP's, on eBay, yesterday (through the post), I received a Doris Day EP, and today I received 2 Los Lobos Singles - La Bamba / Charlena & Come On, Let's Go / Ooh! My Head. I have got a Steepletone 1960's style Record Player (which can play LP's, EP's 45 & 78 Vinyl Singles, and also MP3's), just like the one, you can see below.
I have still got a Jukebox (which can play CD's), which I bought from Past Times. Some modern turntables have a USB to convert vinyl to digital. There's a good choice here, although no idea what they sound like. www.whathifi.com/best-buys/best-usb-turntables-budget-to-premium-vinyl-spinners

If it's purely down to album and single sales, then McCartney. Also Macca is the only one still alive and performing. Since Thomas the Tank Engine not much has been heard of Ringo.
I doubt whether Lennon would have carried on as a music artist. I could see him as a writer and producer not as a performer.
Harrison, immensely talented, think his most successful years was with the Traveling Wilburys... I could be mistaken though.

Always remember Rory Bremner stating when he met Murray, he said "you've met and commentated on all the greats, Fangio, Graham Hill, Senna... who was your favourite?"
Murray thought for a while and said "Jim Rosenthal". Whether it's true or not I couldn't say, but it would be typical of something Murray would say. Bless him.

I caught the second half of this today and the scene of Arthur eventually confessing to Terry that he'd given Petselli Terrys address had me laughing out loud. "You know me Terry, I had a go!" "No he wont be there ye...." "How d'you know that?" "Pardon?" "Did you tell him where I live?" "No, no, no,no." "DID YOU?" "Yeah." Classic Arthur.

I quite like it. Doesn't have the bite of the best, and Tony Anholt's accent is dodgy, although nice to see him outside of The Protectors. Think it does, also, lack Chisholm's input, which is superb in most of his episodes.
7/10

This episode always makes me chuckle. Again Patrick Malahide has brief but classic dialogue.
Sprott: (talking about Daley) "What's his form?" Chisholm: "Form!? pedigree you mean: greedy, slippery... he's your urban vulture." Fantastic. Although the best line goes to Dave: "I knew Sean Connery before he became Roger Moore."
Cracking episode.

British icon. It's strange because she made her name in the Carry Ons yet she only appeared in 8 or 9 of them. Still find that quite staggering.
Always came across as being down to earth. Umm, sad loss.
