Yeah they certainly get mentioned more than once.

"You have jumped straight out of the Scottish Second Division into the European Cup" Am I right in thinking that Peter Childs hadn't learned to drive when this was made? I’ve always thought that the way Peter Childs parked up outside Scotch Harry’s abode looked a bit suspect so it wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case.

As I’ve said before, I think that this episode would have worked better with Solly Salmon from ‘The Return Of The Invincible Man’ instead of Andrew Sachs Sidney character. He was known for his dodgy insurance claims which would have made the episode a bit more believable and a nice throwback for long time Minder fans.

Watched this episode the other day, and don't know what to make of it. Can understand the logic of moving production to Oz for cost and other reasons. IMHO it would be more plausible if Arthur went to Oz to seek his inheritance and left Ray to run his lock-up, with perhaps a few updates by phone from Arthur. They could've redressed a UK location to mimic Australia. The show was extremely popular down under and was part funded by ABC in Australia.

I hear a lot of people complaining about the music being used during the Ray years, however if you go back to series 1 that also used a lot of background music compared to the rest of the Terry years.

Just heard that Ann Lynn (best known to Minder fans as Rose Mellors) sadly died on the 30 August aged 86. RIP.

At least make it up until The Coach That Came In From The Cold, that’s easily my favourite episode from series 8.

Tragic, 43 is such a young age and his career had only really started to take off in the past few years.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, it might be a case of this episode was originally due to be shown last in the series.

I still think it was a shame that a second series didn’t happen for this.

Yeah Dave’s brother in law was another creation of Tony Hoare’s and was used a couple of times during the early years.

If it’s any consolation, the remainder of series seven is a lot better and includes a couple of my favourite episodes in the entire run.

Got to ask, was it ITV4 that you watched it on? Minder has been cut so much on ITV4 that a lot of the time the story hardly makes sense.

It could also be An Officer & A Car Salesman that he was referring to.

The Winchester is just a 1 bedroom bedsit. As soon as you open the door there’s a toilet. During filming they had to black it out and you will notice that anyone going in has to turn to the right as they go in. See jno’s interview with the art director for more info: www.minder.org/joyce/joyce.htmNot sure on the name of the pub although it can probably be seen in one of the episodes I should imagine.

Churchfield Road, just over the road from the Winchester Club used in the Ray years. And The Winchester is up for sale.

As far as I know, there isn’t a Waltham Green. I think it was supposed to be Walham Green which is in Fulham. Could be Welham Green I guess: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welham_GreenAlways baffled me though.

You also had Pete Postlethwaite, Brian Hibbard, Kenneth Cranham, & Tony Robinson. All fairly well known actors.

No, Thames didn’t loose it’s franchise until 1992 while series 9 was in production.

Series 6 was supposed to be the end of Minder, hence the gap in production.
