At the time they didn’t know that it would be the last episode featuring Dennis Waterman.

I’ve always known “gone case” as someone/something that is out of control. I might be wrong though.

I don’t think that would have helped Stretch by that point. The gun shot wound in Alfie’s shoulder would have given the game away.

Which episode did Kenny re-appear in? Actor Dave Atkins who played Kenny appeared in ‘I'll Never Forget Whats'ername’ which is the first episode from series 9 but he was credited as ‘punter’ not as Kenny. He walk’s into Arthur’s car lot office and asks Arthur about the Scirocco to which arthur replies “Hot wind or something isn’t it?”

I’ve got all of their albums and back in 92 the clubs used to go mad whenever one of their tracks were played. I really enjoyed their latest album, although there are a few tracks that I’d skip.

A lot of the edits on ITV4 are more to do with making the episode shorter than they originally were so they can fit an extra ad break in. Do yourself a favour & buy the DVDs.

Well I keep searching YouTube through tons of ITV adverts of 1991. New (old) stuff turns up every now & then so you never know.

I remember seeing a trailer on Thames of forthcoming shows for Autumn 1991 and they showed a clip of Minder being filmed at the car lot, it was snowing and George Cole was clearly feeling the cold weather. It was probably from this episode.
Would love to see that again.

You are right, Terry tells someone that his mum thinks that he is a chauffeur. I can’t remember what episode it is or who the conversation is with... I think it’s with Penny so probably ‘Not A Bad Lad, Dad’ or ‘Monday Night Fever’.

To me during series 1, the car lot seems to be a bit of an after thought. I think I’m right in saying that it’s only seen once in the whole series (A Tethered Goat) and in the episode ‘Aces High and Sometimes Very Low’ Maurice asks Arthur if he has any contacts in the motor trade. Surely Maurice would know that Arthur is a motor trader?
Thing is, we know that the titles (which mainly take place at the car lot) were filmed 3 weeks before filming started on the actual series.
Saying that, in the same episode Dave does say to Arthur keep looking for a nice 4 year old Capri for him so maybe I’ve got it wrong.

Possibly, both of the episodes he appeared in were written by Leon Griffiths and with Leon being out of action for series 2 they might have been the reason that he never returned.

It was classed as a Christmas special (it was originally shown on Boxing Day) and its 5 minutes longer than the usual episodes. It was released on the Umbrella release.

‘An Officer & A Car Salesman’ was the last Terry episode to be filmed (although it was shown before series 7) so that was Peter Childs' last performance really.

Strangely enough there used to be a night club above the business design centre (the entrance was at the side of the building) that I used to go to and I’d often see Wasp aka Jake Wood (when he had hair) up there along with a lot of other actors. I even got to have a dance with Lucy Benjamin one night... Sadly that was as far as I got
