But I presume not the theme, as IMDb credits him as composer / conductor: incidental music. I guess I'll get more used to the change in flavour musically, but I don't think I'll change my mind about the theme arrangement... I’m pretty sure that he done the re-worked theme tune too.

There’s not much I moan about in regards to Minder but it would have been great if more of the characters would have made more appearances or at least be mentioned more.

Jack (Rose’s minder) Maurice, Scotch Harry, Justine, Des, Penny, Debbie, Arnie, Gloria, Ray’s Mum & Dad. Probably a few more that I’ve missed.

So what was filmed as DW last episode then? Thames broadcasted it as the last one but not in the production order correct? An Officer And A Car Salesman was the last one to be filmed which went out before series 7.

Not sure if this the same guy in each scene or not but here are a couple of pictures:

Interesting. Who owns the franchise or is it now lapsed? Thames didn’t loose the rights to Minder. They lost their ITV franchise. Central Television partly financed series 10 with Thames (in the guise of Euston Films) and 3 specials were planned after series 10 but Central pulled out and no other ITV companies were willing to pay production costs.

No, Thanes were using this ident in 1991: Although I think that all the DVD releases also use the more classic Thames ident. The last two series (9 & 10) had Carlton idents at the beginning (even though they didn’t produce the series) as Thames had lost their franchise. The early Carlton idents used a verity of Londoners announcing “This is Carlton, Television for London” and this guy was used more than anyone else for Minder.

Yeah a lot of pubs used to have an act or band on at certain times.

Carole Skinner ( Nola McKenzie in Prisoner Cell Block H) is in this episode apparently playing a barmaid. I watched it today on ITV4 and the only barmaid that I saw was the one who takes the bets. Did I miss something ( I did have to answer the phone to some fool who wasn't watching Minder) or did Miss Skinner look a lot different in life outside Wentworth Prison This requires further investigation, I'll get on it, but it might take a little while. She is in the episode but she doesn’t have a speaking part. I’m guessing that her lines were cut but we do see her walk past Ray behind the bar in the first pub that he starts work in (where Arthur sells Robyn’s dodgy make up cases).

Was Jerome Flynn (Soldier Soldier/Robson & Jerome) the look a like in the studio knocking on the window ...Demented Dave I think... He's very young and it's uncredited and not mentioned on IMDB or Google. Now you mention it, I can see the similarity. What date is Flynns first mention on imdb si? Was he working as an actor at this time? I’ve not seen this episode in a while but I think it was Dorian Healy that played Demented Dave. He also appeared in ‘Guess Who's Coming To Pinner’ from series 8 and also appeared in the Shane Ritchie version. Yeah, that is Dorian Healy.

Come on, the scene where Arthur is described as being 1st division by Superintendent Copeland is one of the series highlights for me. Morley’s reaction is comedy gold.

Anyone know the name of the music in the strip club for the first scene with Terry? It's gotten caught in my ear on this rewatch for some reason... It’s called Swamp Dog. There’s a link on the music page: www.minder.org/tunes/index.htm#incidental

I don’t get this not liking Justin thing. I loved Mark Farmers portrayal of the character.

To be honest I think my disliking for that scene is the bloke being thrown out of window. Just seemed over the top. I know it was done for the joke of the taxi driver speeding off & Arthur attempting to karate chop him after but it just seemed silly.

I never liked the punch up at the end of this one, seems very rushed and Morley & Field turn up way too quickly. Some great lines though, often used used ‘second class driving is better than first class walking’ myself.

I don’t think that it became compulsory to wear a seat belt until 83.
I remember that my first car (a D reg Fiesta Popular) was recalled to have rear seat belts fitted.

Well I (and I think jno thinks this too) was always under the impression that the way this episode turned out, was the reason that Dennis Waterman quit the show. Makes me wonder if he stormed off set or just went down the pub and didn’t want to come back

I’m sure that Minder On The Orient Express was originally intended for release in cinemas early on. I’m sure that I read that somewhere.
