Watched this one today, very enjoyable.
Love Mel Smith in this, but overall the plot is a little weak to give it full marks.

Alan Bradley off Corrie, who famously died under the wheels of a Blackpool tram whilst trying to kill Rita Fairclough.
92 years of age and his face popped up in quite a few series we know and love over the years.
RIP

Ex Chelsea, Man Utd and Scotland manager passes away aged 92.
Not everyone's cup of tea, but I always found him good value. Was treated harshly at Man U when they were possibly on the verge of something decent, but always had his enemies due to his abrasive style.
RIP Tommy

Watched on Britbox this afternoon for the first time in years. A real bit of quality for me with this one.
Dai really was quality.
A cut in this one on BB, when he tells Dai he will will send for him once this is all over, it cuts straight to the next scene and we don't see/hear Dai's reply.
I would have liked to have seen Terry and Dai keep the cheques at the end though, as they really deserved them.

What kind of car was Danny driving in this? Was it a TR7?

Another Best Of episode on Britbox which I wouldn't argue with, with the returning Scotch Harry star of the show.
Nice to see Arthur doing a good turn for once by giving Harry the £500.

This is on Britbox as one of the best episodes and who am I to argue.
Brilliant, although a few cuts on this one on Britbox.

Not seen this episode for awhile so it was nice to refresh my memory of it. The scene I always remember is Terry being thrown out of Stamford Bridge after Arthur's little set up. Karl Howman plays a professional footballer with an eye for the ladies and a few bookies chasing him, roping Arthur and Terry into his spot of bother. I was surprised to learn that Martin Campbell directed this episode. My favourite scene has to be the closing one with Arthur visiting Terry in hospital, although Arthur wasn't willing to share his grapes I love their relationship in the earlier series before Terry began to tire of Arthur's antics. 3.5 out of 5. Got up early today to watch a few episodes and this was one of them. A very good episode for me. £2 entry to Stamford Bridge, wouldn't even get you a pie now.

I think the 'O-Level' reference was still valid at this point, the 'GCSE' not replacing it till 1988. I still hear people of a certain generation using the term, proving that change really does take a generation. I remember back in '86 I think the GCSE was being trialed. Some exams you got an "O-Level" cert and a CSE one. I don't think this dual approach carried through to the final model of the qualification a couple of years later, but I could be wrong. A long time ago now. GCSE was first roles out in English, up in Scotland in third year in 1987 that year group were the first guinea pigs for it across Scotland, with the first exams for it for 89. The rest of our subjects were O Level and CSE, which I believe stood for Completely Shyte Education. I couldn't explain the current set up to anyone as all very confusing. I might actually dig out the box set and watch this episode today as have still never done so.

Could never take to this one. Im not sure why? The poor picture quality doesn’t really help. I didn't think the PQ was bad on this at all, which makes me think they have been cleaned up for Britbox. Don't get me wrong though, I am not meaning full HD upgrade in anyway.

Watched this afternoon, really like this one, lots to like for me.
Feel sorry for the poor lass who has taken up "massaging" when she finds herself hard up, quite a regular occurrence in the 80s.
I was amazed Britbox left the term 'nip' in though, when speaking about the Japanese guy in the hotel room.

Watched this afternoon, brilliant. I love the old school acting by George Cole and Lionel Jefferies in it.
James Cosmo is always good value, although it would have been nice to see him in a bigger role.
The sofa Terry was laying on we used to have the same one. I have known one or two people who believe in not being good to leave sitting in the bottle once opened.

Actor best known for playing Boba Fett in the original Star Wars trilogy has passed away aged 75. Had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for a number of years.
Used to often turn up in random episodes of 70s TV series.
Rest Well Sir.

Be a shame to lump the Britbox episode cuts in with ITV4, but I will update the BB thread as and when I find them. It just seems to be words and phrases no longer deemed acceptable that are cut, the episodes appear to be in full, bar a few seconds at most in offending episodes.

There is a cut in the BB episode, I think but need to check against the DVD. When Terry snaps at Harry and pulls him against the wall, I am sure Terry calls him a Jock so and so, but it sounds like it has been taken out. Can't say for certain, but will double check. I think the line you're talking about daz is when Stan comes back to the bedsit with kebabs instead of Harrys preferred "chicken supper" and Harry kicks off. Terry grabs him and says, "Listen you Scotch ponce...….!" which is cut from the ITV4 showings too. I knew it was Scotch something, just didn't know what came after it. The scene still runs, but you can tell there is a line missing.

Watched tonight on Britbox and have to say once again that it is such a great episode, with Scotch Harry stealing it for me as always, but all characters play their part.

I actually think that if I was to advise someone where to start with Minder, I would point them to this episode.

Another one, M&S Xmas adverts. A Brussel Sprout is a Brussel Sprout, no matter how much Tom Hardy tries to tell us differently.
Hate the shop with a passion, hate their adverts even more.

Best author of the spy genre, in my opinion, has passed away aged 89.
Been reading a few of his more recent books the past few weeks.
Sad to read this tonight, but what a life he had.

Watched today and easily one of my favourite episodes. I like everything about it, but my favourite bit is seeing Shamy come good for Terry.
Terry is a kind soul and was good to see for once that he wasn't taken advantage of.

Watched yesterday and a very enjoyable episode. Debbies strip routine was very good.
I don't think Baker would have left things as the were at the final scenes, he looked a right evil bar steward, something very sinister about him.

A couple of points about this episode that I hadn't really taken notice of before. Their's discussion in other episode threads about Rycott possibly being 'bent' and here we see him in Arthurs lock-up, telling Arthur to warn Terry that he's due a visit regarding George being on the run and that he doesn't want to find George at Terrys flat. I don't know why he would give Terry a chance like this but I'm fairly certain Chisholm wouldn't have! Secondly, unless I've missed something, Arthur gave up George's whereabouts when the heavies began to smash up his stock but when was Arthur told that George was holed up at The Winch? I watched this yesterday and Dave doesn't tell Arthur he is holed up in the club, but his facial expression and eyes give it away when Arthur brings the matter up, so mere a guess by Arthur.
A great episode.

Xmas lights and decorations outside of houses realy, really grate me and it seems worse than ever this year. There are a few houses beside us with so much lights on them I reckon you could seem them from Mars. Doesn't help when my Wife bangs on about we don't have any and I aim to keep it that way and I don't think she will push me on it as she knows how much I really detest them. Some idiot at the top of our street even hired a cherry picker to hang lights off a very high tree with a star on top, must be round 40/50ft high. What a waste of money to show off. All this cheer really gets a grinch down.
