This board is quite simple - one versus the other, with three possible voting options:
- Contender 1 is better
Contender 2 is better
Sit On The Fence (Neither is better/Unable to decide)
In order to keep things nice, simple and fair for everyone and not too have too many matches going on at once, I suggest we adopt a "round robin" approach:
- one death match vote per week, a thread created by me towards the weekend (or as close as possible to a or Friday or Saturday as can be if I am away from keyboard). A total of 52 death matches in a year is probably enough to keep discussion going without straying into more matches. One a week, gives enough people, regular posters and not-so-regular posters a chance to read the thread, watch or listen to the options available if YT vids are included.
- each member can have their match posted here. To start the ball please PM me with two suggestions for a death match vote you would like to see here. It must CLEAN, NON-POLITICAL and follow the forum rules of course and somehow related to the sort of pleasant themes that are discussed here on the forum. These will posted, one suggestion at a time, on a first come first served 'round robin' basis - when I get the PM, I will add it to the list and each weekend this will appear here along with the name of the person who suggested it.
- Your suggestion might take a while to appear here as this is one per weekend. Note: Only staff can create threads here, but anyone can reply to them. When ideas are running dry I will post again to ask for more suggestions.
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR SUGGESTIONS HERE ON THE FORUM - LET'S MAKE THEM A SURPRISE FOR EVERYONE WHEN THE APPEAR!
As an example I have set up an initial one to start off with inspired by the Off Topic 'cover versions' thread.
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" - was the original by Simon & Garfunkel better or was it Elvis Presley's cover version? ( click here to visit this first thread )
Get voting and SEND ME A PM. If this idea does not take off I will remove this board in the future and the point here is simple - we use the power of the vote to decide one versus the other about those important issues that need deciding.
