Shelley Duvall star of The Shining (1980),Nashville and Annie Hall has passed away aged 75 shortly after her birthday. www.BBC.co.uk/news/articles/cy77p22jr5loApart from those roles she also starred in Popeye playing Olive Oyl alongside Robin Williams which only the other day I bought on DVD (it is one of my favs so there ) and was considered a big flop back in the day but actually doubled it's money and has become very much a cult film. RIP Shelley.

I rather liked Shelley Duvall, who was good-looking in a kind of left-of-centre way.
The film 'Brewster McCloud' (1970) was one of the irreverent hippy-type movies of the period, and it is one of Shelley's films that I particularly remember.
I understand Shelley had some personal problems in more recent years, influenced by movie business apathy towards maturer actresses. Though she made a recent comeback to great effect.
R.I.P. Shelley.

Always interesting but it's for Annie Hall that I'll remember her best. RIP.

Popeye and The Shining always remind me of Shelley, and her distinct facial expressions really said a lot without her having to say anything. RIP
