One of those languid, beautiful, talented ladies that France seemed to specialise in producing. An actress and singer songwriter (long before the term was coined) She had her first self penned hit in the early 1960's. Very popular in her native land and mainland Europe, she made it appear effortless. Best known on this side for her acting role in the excellent 1966 Formula 1 movie Grand Prix, where she played a cool French girlfriend of one of the drivers, but who had a mind of her own too. Her songs were also cool, like the lady herself. Mick Jagger described her as ''my ideal woman'' Featured as a guest vocalist on Blur's To The End, from the Parklife album also. RIP Francoise. 'Comment te dire adieu' is very late-60s MOR and also very French, and I like it a lot.
R.I.P. Francois Hardy.

Nobody does chic and cool quite like the French and they didn't come more chic or cool than Francoise Hardy.
She was one of those select group of people who just never got old and remained true to herself.
RIP

Oh no, I was just listening to a song by her yesterday and didn't realize she had passed. One of my favorites and I have many of her albums. RIP

'Grand Prix' (1966) used to appear on prime-time TV quite often in the 70s-80s, though I didn't know who Francois Hardy was at that time. I will have to watch it again.
