Legendary American film director and producer has passed away at the grand age of 98. Known as the King of the B- movie, and for some iconic horror movies, including The Pit And The Pendulum, The House Of Usher, and the utterly stunning and unsettling The Masque Of The Red Death. His other credits, including Teenage Caveman, Last Woman On Earth, The Wild Angels, The St. Valentine's Day Massacre, Death Race, Bloody Mama and Machine Gun Kelly just hint at his versatility and sensibilities. Arguably Quentin Tarantino based his career on Corman. I will leave a more rounded critique to others more qualified than myself. RIP Roger. Roger Corman: a career in pictures | Film | The Guardian

I liked his Poe adaptations. Arguably started the careers of a lot of actors and film makers with his low budget films.

Produced and directed some real trash, but in the same breath was also responsible for some of the greatest films of all time. Giving so many actors, directors and talent their early breaks and film schooling. Only the other day, I watched Last Embrace, directed by Jonathan Demme - Oscar winner in 1992 best director for Silence of the Lambs - first 3 feature films, Caged Heat, Crazy Mama, Fighting Mad. All Corman produced. The commentator on the extras who was a huge Demme fan stated without Corman giving Demme his big break Demme’s career wouldn’t have taken off. And that’s just one talent out of probably hundreds.
493 producer credits, 56 directing credits. Distribution producer on loads of foreign films too. A superb contribution to film Roger.
RIP

I watched two of his movies Saturday night, Beast of Haunted Cave and Machine Gun Kelly. Not long after that I read that he passed away. Rest In Peace and thank you for all the entertainment.
