Not really known this side of the pond, his 80's movie Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, directed by TimBurton, did make it this far though. The character of Pee-Wee was a joy, think of a wise-ass 10 year old with a high pitched voice in a too tight suit and red bow tie on a road trip to find his stolen bike, encountering many strange and wonderful people and places along the way. Surreal and inspired. RIP Paul. (551) Pee-wee's Big Adventure | Original Trailer | Coolidge Corner Theatre - YouTube

A unique talent. Never saw much of Pee-Wee's Playhouse but I love the two movies. RIP.

RIP Paul Reubens, he had created one of the most iconic and niches' characters in modern history and I won't be surprised if the characters gets revisited many times in the near future and he's to thank for portraying that character.
