I believe in Germany your match ticket includes the public transport to get to and from the game. I have been looking at going to a Bundesliga game and season tickets are cheap by comparison to England but there is still big demand for games and sold out stadia from what I can see. Last time I looked into even a Championship club in England I heard tickets are hard to come by. I'd imagine you used to able to rock up to many first and most second division grounds with cash on the hip. Pre 2000. Not sure how it is now, but yes in Germany that used to be the case I went to Schalke V Dortmund ...its a derby , its not for the faint hearted lol My ticket was like 16 euros and the taxi fare from our hotel was like less than 10 We got a Veltins beer inside the stadium for 5 euros for a pint in a very nifty Schalke plastic pint glass that you can keep , if you don't want the glass i think the beer comes in a cr*p plastic throwaway for 2 euros !!! ( I wanted the branded one as a tourist of course) This was back in 2017 Amazing day out , wish we could have that same experience here in uk

The clubs must be at least 51% owned by the supporters. Bayern Munich, amazingly, are 75% supporter owned. With Addidas, Audi and Allianz owning a miserly 8.3% each. Imagine such a system in England. Borussia Dortmund are 100% supporter owned. It's not just Germany. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are also supporter owned. Members have a vote on important decisions. Between them those two and Bayern have 25 European Cups.

Just too much money or not enough. When clubs would rather avoid relegation (understandable nowadays, because of the money) than to win say the FA Cup, the game started to change. Rather than list my personal reasons, it would be easier to recommend Jimmy Greaves' book "The Heart of the Game" - plently of reasons there and a cracking read
