Cynthia, along with husband Barry Mann, was a product of New York's legendary Brill building stable of songwriters (Carole King/Gerry Goffin, Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka etc) and co-wrote some of popular music's greatest songs, too many to list here, including On Broadway by The Drifters and most famously You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling by the Righteous Brothers, which was named in 1999 as the most played song on US radio in the 20th century (think about that for a moment) Songs like these are so intrinsic to our popular culture that it's hard to believe that there was a time that they didn't exist until someone actually sat down and wrote them. RIP Cynthia.
