One of those who embarrassingly I thought had gone long ago. Made a fair old impact in EastEnders which very much made his name. Despite this he'd been appearing on screen since 1960 (possibly the 1950s in uncredited roles) and appeared in genre favourites such as Public Eye, Out of the Unknown, Redcap, Dad's Army, The Brothers, The Tomorrow People, Dixon of Dock Green, The Sweeney, The Professionals. He's credited with one Minder appearance, in Goodbye Sailor (1984). RIP.

I thought he had already passed! I remember him in the bill about 18 years ago, playing a prison inmate, I tend to notice little details, this one being that the radio he had in his cell, was later seen in his living room when the character appeared again, this time now released,a couple of episodes later

I also thought he had passed away a long time ago. I remember seeing him interviewed when I was a child and I was surprised how posh he sounded in real life. A shame he didn't have a larger role in Minder.
RIP

I think he sort of disappeared after Eastenders which is why I think a few of us thought he’d already passed, reading an obituary on Saturday it seems his health really suffered from the filming schedule which is possibly why you didn’t really see him after leaving Eastenders. RIP
