A Hollywood star since his childhood, but unusually Dean kept on making movies through the 50s and 60s as an adult. Career dipped in the late 60s and 70s, like most 'studio' stars of the era. But Dean came roaring back in the 80s and 90s with roles in David Lynch and Wim Wenders films before taking a role in Quantum Leap for which we of our age would remember him best. Oscar nominated for 88's Married To The Mob, he won two Best Actor awards at Cannes in the early 60s. Also won three Emmys and a Golden Globe for Quantum Leap. That's what you call a career. He was in tons of stuff!! Always a welcome actor in anything, who could play all sorts of roles and characters. Sadly missed.
I need to rewatch The Dunwich Horror, I’ve not seen it for years. Not since I last saw my Guild Home Video pre-cert.
RIP Dean, “God damn you are one suave f***er.”

RIP Dean, “God damn you are one suave f***er.” He certainly was. Great as the dodgy lawyer in To Live and Die in L.A., the not inappropriately named Bob Grimes.

Quantum Leap was all the more better with him in it. RIP Dean.
