That’s rubbish news!!
William Smith was in literally everything at some point or another. Often playing a baddie but sometimes getting a good guy part. Like in Any Which Way You Can as Clint’s rival. Smith couldn’t really hold a movie just off his own back (see: Grave of the Vampire) but he had a lot of screen presence and was a welcome face in any production. Sad, sad times.
Probably my favourite film he ever acted in was as Conan’s dad in Conan the Barbarian - “Kill that one!”

Agree with Arch, terrible news, he's the best bad guy ever, and was pretty much in every US show I ever watched as a kid.
Incredible that everyone will know his boat race even if they don't know his name. Superb actor, second to none as a bad guy.

It’s a shame they’ve never made a Kane film, based on Karl Wagner’s character. William Smith would have been perfect for the role if you gave him a red wig.
