Although different from the TV series theme, the theme music for the two Sweeney films was good and fitted with the respective films.
However, the music for 'Regan' (1974), the Sweeney pilot, didn't really fit the subject and sounded like an ITC series theme.

Off topic but got to disagree there Portland Road, I quite like 'The Loner' theme, great stuff and depressing dark harbour music! Best continue with Sweeney music cha5 over on the Sweeney music thread: minder.proboards.com/thread/4224/library-music-on-sweeney

I like the closing shot of Terry and Arthur as they are runnning away from the Winchester, they turn to each other with a big grin on their faces. It left me with a warm fuzzy feeling at the time, because if I remember rightly in the supposedly last ever episode their relationship wasn't that great. I didn't think I would be the only one - I got the same feeling. With Nicky leasding the way, a wonderful way to end the episode.

Anyone spotted the moment Debbie Arnold referred to in the podcast interview, where she reckoned she fell asleep? I had a look..and could not see it..the best I can spot is when she's in the bar with her Angelo, reading his palm.. And it is Chisholm she is behind, not Honour Blackman's character..however, she seems awake, so. Bit of a mystery...maybe she was wrong about it..heh.

Not heard the podcast but it’s possible the scene was cut or reshot? Yeah...so if she says she recalls it, either she's recalling wrong, or as you say, maybe she saw some alternate cut. I've tried asking jno, but he has yet to reply..if anyone could know, you'd think he would, I guess..or have a a clue.

Sorry denzel, when she mentioned it in the podcast it was the first I'd heard of it. Next time I watch this I'll look out for it though, but I really can't imagine for a second that someone is asleep in a live take.

Ah, okay then jno...and you never know..she did say her back was to us, and all...so quite possible she wasn't the center of director's attention. Still though, aside from the moment I mentioned, with Chisholm and Francoise, I saw no scene remotely involving her back. Her front...that was a bit more..well, up front

Then there is Adam Faith's character - that isn't developed at all. Who is he, exactly? What is his stake in this whole affair? He's prepared to maim for what he wants (presumably Fred South's money?) but then ends up saying 'no hard feelings'. I haven't watched this for years but I remember thinking Faith and his sidekick had been hired by somebody to get the details of the bank account from Nikki. If he was working for someone professionally that would explain his offer of a handshake to Terry imo as it was just another job, not personal. Chase and Hart were hired by Nikki's stepmother, in one of the scenes you see her sitting in the car with them. But it's not at all clear which suggests there may potentially be some deleted scenes somewhere. How all these accomplices and family members knew Nikki had an envelope with Jack South's legacy and was travelling on that exact train to empty his Swiss bank account is also a mystery. Guess Nikki must have put an advert in the 'Villains Gazette' I like the thought that the idea came from Diana Dors' allegedly missing millions with a code to crack - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diana_Dors#Alleged_fortune. Like Jack South's, it is extremely unlikely ever to be realised.

Probably down to Nikki's man Mark. That would only work for Moore and Wengler, unless Mark wanted to split his dad's share with Helen Spender, Meredith Gascoyne and Harry Ridler who'd all booked separately.

What I'd meant was...it was down to Mark that anyone would come to know.. it started with him, telling the 2 villains, as you mentioned...and from there, well, these things have a way of spreading/being found out about, so.. I agree that they should have wanted to keep things quiet, those who knew...but obviously the news spread (only explanation, granted).

It was great to see this get a rare TV showing. I think I have mentioned it before, or on the ‘other forum’ back in summer of 1985, myself , Barry The Book & a few others took the train to Par to see the train come in. Terry & Arthur were on the platform for a while whilst the engine - a class 50 ( I think) turned around. I have photos somewhere….

I thought the UK side was all filmed on the way to Folkestone... ??

This story of chopper and barrythebook going to Par is well known on this forum. Although we think they're abroad they are of course rattling down to Cornwall and back at some point. Sadly I only have a script for this one and no filming dates or location info other than what's already on the minder.org main site. When I watch this episode I can't help but wonder those few missing locations are i.e. where the kids throw the photo into the stream and the white cliffs when they first get off the train.

When I caught the end of this the other day on ITV4 the scene with the kids at the river reminded me of jno out hunting for the elusive location in Northern France, and sucessfully identifying the spot on the train track where Chisholm wanders along. That is now part of the Eurostar mainline. LOL

Also it seemed strange to go to Par and then turn around, rather than go the extra hour and 20 mins to Penzance? Maybe low key, especially in the summer, and good opportunities to turn around with the extra track and sidings for the branch line to Newquay and freight / China clay line.

One of my favourite episodes. Its all very far fetched as befits a Christmas episode but great fun, especially as it reunites so many actors who appeared as guest stars in the series. One thing always intrigued me though. Why does the glamorous Honor Blackman make a bee line for Arthur immediately she sees him (before she could have any suspicion that he is involved with the daughter of Jack South)? I know it was Christmas but were we supposed to believe she fancied him???

Tricky one to answer but maybe she's a gold digger and sees him as a man of means, by no means!

Could it be down to licence issues its taken them so long to show this episode on TV again and why "An Officer and a Car Salesman" has not been repeated yet? Only thing I can think off as a reason
