The veteran Hollywood actress has sadly died aged 97.
She was most famous for musicals like Calamity, rom-coms like Pillow Talk with Rock Hudson and 'Move Over Darling'.
She also had a successful recording career.
RIP

She appeared in Alfred Hitchcock's second version of The Man Who Knew Too Much. I remember her sitcom when I was a little kid. Her son, Terry Melcher was a record producer who worked with groups like The Byrds and he was a target of the Manson Family.
She was quite a big movie star in her day.
Rest In Peace

Always liked Doris Day although her films are very much of their time. Humanitarian with stray cats and dogs in her later years. RIP Ms Day

Heard of her through her songs, but I don't think I have ever seen one of her films.
RIP Doris

A bit before the time period I am interested in, but there is no doubt she was a major star.
R.I.P. Doris Day.
