I didn't know he had two stints on Coronation Street, including one storyline when he held Stan Ogden hostage. You would wonder why. But a very distincive actor.

Met him last November and he was great, albeit very unsteady on his feet. He lived not too far away in Potters Bar and was often to be seen out shopping. A very sad loss.
RIP.

Really sad to hear this. He appeared in countless films and TV series as an American. A very competent character actor.
RIP

Sad news, I have seen Shane Rimmer, in lots of episodes of TV series, only yesterday, I watched the Tales of the Unexpected episode A Man with a Fortune (1982), one of two episodes of Tales of the Unexpected, in which Shane Rimmer, appeared, and on Saturday, I watched the Van Der Valk episode A Sudden Silence (1991), in which Shane Rimmer, appeared.
Shane Rimmer, could be seen (or heard) in several James Bond films.
R.I.P. Shane Rimmer.

Have to be honest and say I had never heard of him. daz....you might not have heard of him, but if you watched 'Thunderbirds' you would have certainly heard him.... When I watched classic TV with other people, and Shane Rimmer was guesting, I would point him out. "Who....?" they would say. "Scott Tracy from Thunderbirds" I would reply. "Oh, yeahhhh....I know him now" they would say Regarding his role in 1960s 'Coronation Street', this seems fairly improbable viewed from now, but he co-starred with another North American ITC actor Paul Maxwell, who played an old GI flame who returned to marry Elsie Tanner. There was a dispute which led to the Rimmer character pushing the Maxwell character down a flight of stairs, killing him. R.I.P. Shane Rimmer.
