Right no messing about boys and girls. Who's the biggest bad asses out of these two pairs of crime fighters. I'm talking toughest, shrewdest, hardest, baddest, meanest, roughest, coolest etc etc. Two choices:- Bodie & Doyle or Regan & Carter No fence sitting like a big girls blouse either. Fences are for thieves and ponces. It's one or the other. The winners will be forever known as TV badasses, the losers a right pair of sissies.

Not a fan of The Professionals, but their CVs are impressive for a "bad ass", as well as legalised and legitimate kills on their watch. Giving a few back street villains a slap before making up a statement doesn't make you a "bad ass" I know who I'd want in my corner on the terraces at Millwall v Chelsea.
Regan would win in a drinking contest though.

This is really tough. Depends totally on the definition and interpretation of the term bad ass.
Bodie & Doyle get my vote as they would be the only two that could have a top punch up and use a machine gun. Regan & Carter would not be able to do both of those things.
Regan would be far more cunning though, more of a bar steward with villains and I agree with ace5150 - would drink Bodie & Doyle out of the pub.

Regan and Carter would hold their own against anyone and would go down with a hell of a fight, but Bodie and Doyle took no sh*t from anyone who crossed their path so they got my vote.

Regan and Carter everytime. Two bad asses versus two silly asses as far as I am concerned.

Regan and Carter looked like the real thing. Bodie and Doyle a pair of pale copies, and camp as a row of tents into the bargain. Plus Haskins could kick Cowley's *rs* any day of the week.

Cowley could take on the whole lot, including Haskins single handed, whilst holding a glass of pure malt scotch and not even spill a drop of it.

Haskins would pick him up and put him in a dustbin where he belongs. Then he’d drink his single malt and raise him a gin and tonic.

Jack Regan was as hard as nails. He boozed for England and smoked like a train. Always had a different bird. Doyle was into healthy eating! Sometimes Bodie and Doyle were a bit too chummy.

This is a tough one. Both duos were too bad ass for American TV.! I voted for Bodie & Doyle because I saw them first.

Bodie and Doyle were better trained fighters whilst Regan and Carter were a couple of street wise hard nuts.
I'll have to go with B & D.
Jack and George could handle the blaggers and safe crackers but I reckon they would have been out of their depth dealing with some of the terrorist factions and foreign organisations that CI5 took on.

I could be wrong here but do Jack and George attract the nutters that write and enjoy reading slash fiction? I know Bodie and Doyle do!

They just have screwed up minds. Take for instance this still of Bodie & Doyle attempting to breach a back door. Completely innocent. . . . Probably

Faces, Nightmare and...er...Hearts and Minds suggest not. I know there were organisations in the background but Regan was actually encountering ordinary blaggers who had been recruited in Faces whilst in Nightmare he was dealing with two lone entities who were trying to win there way back in iirc. As you say ltd, "...er...Hearts and Minds", Regans involvement came from investigating a break in and he never really comes face to face with the terrorists.

Bodie and Doyle are tougher and more "professional"! But they are more fantastical than the Sweeney duo.
Jack Regan is very tough and crafty - maybe he would be a good recruit for CI5!

Regan was too much of a rule breaker and too insubordinate for CI5.

Regan was too much of a rule breaker and too insubordinate for CI5. Having thought about it - I don't think Jack and George Cowley would get on!

Regan was too much of a rule breaker and too insubordinate for CI5. I mentioned it in some other thread but I could see Cowley using Regan in an unofficial, black ops sort of way to take advantage of his rule breaking. That would fit with Cowley's occasional the end justifies the means attitude. Regan wouldn't last as a regular member of CI5. Bodie and Doyle could give Cowley enough aggro without adding someone like Jack Regan.

Bodie and Doyle rarely answered back to Cowley. Jack would have constantly argued with The Cow.

Hard to separate but going off kill count it’s no contest. I think Regan and Bodie teaming up would wipe the floor with Carter and Doyle though.
