Left Back in the famous England 66 squad passed today. Solid player, unsung hero like George Cohen. That's three that's left the field now, four if you count Sir Alf.

I bet fairly few World Cup winners have started up an Undertakers business after they quit playing.

I bet fairly few World Cup winners have started up an Undertakers business after they quit playing. RIP Very true! Forgotten this, Daz is spot on, Ray started a very successful undertakes business and would often carry his tape measure with him to size up his old team mates for a laugh.

Wasn't undertaking the Wilson family business, that he returned to after his playing days ended?
I always remember a TV documentary (either the 20th or 30th anniversary of the '66 victory). He said that you can easily handle the physical aspects of the job (pall-bearing etc) but you could never, ever get used to people's emotional reactions to death.
R.I.P. Ray Wilson.
