Blimey, another shocking death. This year really has been terrible in that respect and we're only half way through.
52 is far too young to go. RIP.

Stunned at this. She had her demons but I had no idea she had this dreaded illness. An excellent writer and actress, I will never forget her in The Fast Show. I imagine she's interviewing Paul Daniels as Mrs Merton already! Thanks for the memories, sleep well.

She had that rare quality that so many other celebrities don't have. Talent.

I had read that Caroline was battling cancer but thought she would pull through as she was working until very recently, such a loss her writing and comic talents were great she was very quick witted also, I loved her in The Royal family the writing was genius and she played the part immaculately. RIP you're beautiful in every way.

Very sad news and out of the blue as far as I was concerned, I had no idea she was poorly. 52 is far too young to be taken, RIP Caroline Aherne, such sad news.

That was a sore one. Was part of a group of comedians who broke through around the same time and I greatly admire. She had a great touch as a writer and I loved the Royal Family, great characters and right up with the best of British sitcoms. The 3rd time she had cancer in her short life, but sadly she couldn't beat it this time. RIP

Loved Mrs Merton and that line to Debbie McGee was just brilliant! Strangely I'm currently in the middle of Paul Daniels' autobiography.

An excellent writer and actress, I will never forget her in The Fast Show. I used to like her insensitive supermarket cashier "Ready meal for one. Live on your own do you? Ahhhh." Great comic timing.

I never got into her work as much as I should have done. Surprising because I was keen on others of that period like Enfield and Whitehouse. It can be difficult though to take in everything.
52 is no age. RIP Caroline Aherne.

She did some great work. I used to like her Catholic nun stand up character. Who remembers Mrs Merton and Malcolm? That was funny but strange.

Rip Caroline aherne. I did security for her with her then husband(Peter hook..new order) I used to keyholed their house and new order rehearsal studios, late 80s One morning there was a alarm activation for their home. I drove up there and let myself in and proceeded to deactivate alarm(which was blaring away) I was just at the alarm panel when a internal door opened and Caroline and Peter appeared. "Are you here to turn this f***ing racket off)said Peter hook. Happy memories.
