Not a Connery fan. Lazenby is a smug so-and-so; Dalton played it too seriously... boring. Criag is IMHO a rubbish actor per se - and boring.
I grew up watching Moore (I can do a wicked impersonation BTW), so my heart says good old Rog. But I'm hovering towards Brosnan. Not sure why not many people reckon him. I think he's very good, combining some of Moore's humour and adding a little Connery to the mix.
Nope. Can't decide.

Meanwhile, back at the topic cave, the best Bond Actor was being discussed...oh, and Pierce Brosnan still hasn't got a single vote!

I thought Brosnan was better in his pre-Bond audition for the part - Live Wire ('92) - than he was in the actual films!!

I also liked him in Nomads. A very strange film, but he gave a very terrified and neurotic turn as an archaeologist.

Would it also be fair to say that Dalton is possibly the most versatile of all the Bond actors? Moore will only be known for Bond really, and despite Connery's attempts to not be typecast, I think he's also best known as Bond. Dalton's kind of like Cole in a way - he's had a distinguished career other than as James Bond (and bear in mind he only made the two films). He played the supermarket owner in Hot Fuzz, he's currently in Penny Dreadful, he was Mr Pricklepants in the third Toy Story film, he played the head of the Time Lords in the Doctor Who series 4 two-part special...As IMDB puts it, 'At a consistently lean 6' 2", green-eyed Timothy Dalton may very well be one of the last of the dying breed of swashbuckling, classically trained Shakespearean actors who have forged simultaneous successful careers in theater, television and film'. I just find that some of the other Bond actors pale in comparison to his acting talents.

I've never really been a big Bond fan but I have voted for Dalton because I largely agree with newishminderfan's comments above. If I had a second choice it would be a toss up between Moore and Craig.

He was very good as Bond. Is there a better "thorn" to Bond's ambitions than Robbie Coltrane? Idea: Best Bond villain would be another good 'Death Match'. IMO the best Bond Villain would have to be a combination between Blofeld and Oddjob. "My name ishh Bond... Premium Bond".

Premium Bond ... I saw that... It was okay, I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously though. Just some light entertainment.

I won't ask if it has anything to do with the size of his pistol.

Connery I think is the closest to Flemings bond in reality, but Moore is a close second. I agree that Craig, while good, is not really 'bond'

I like them all - apart from Daniel Craig.. I've had to say Roger Moore is my favourite. But Connery is the classic Bond. Lazenby was good too although a bit wooden. He looked like Bond and was in one of the best Bond films. Dalton is closest to Fleming's Bond I think, especially in looks, and made two classics, including The Living Daylights which is one of my favourites. Dalton's bond is very fashionable at the moment. Brosnan was an obvious choice for Bond and was a good modern Bond.

Each actor brought a little something to Bond, giving a unique interpretation to the character.
Moore's best performances as 007 were in The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only. He was a bit more ruthless in The Man With The Golden Gun.

I liked 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' as a Bond film. I think Lazenby played the role well, different to the others of course, but he isn't my favourite Bond at all. Coincidentally speaking of Bond films, 'Tomorrow Never Dies' is on tv tonight ! I haven't seen it so will see what it is like tonight.

Yep but have you seen that picture of the lassy with the soap..? She can censor what she likes as far as I'm concerned, so long as she brings herself in the uniform to the next meet!! It's ironic really because the nazis did actually censor quite a lot of words and give words or phrases euphemisms in order to make the atrocities they were carrying out more palatable for the poor sods doing it..
