Let battle commence, which do you prefer? For the sake of pedantry let's assume ALL variations of M&M's are in one side of this war - milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, crisped rice, mint chocolate, peanuts, almonds, orange chocolate, coconut, pretzel, wild cherry, cinnamon, raspberry, birthday cake, pumpkin spice, candy corn, cherry cordial, peppermint etc. etc. etc. Can Smarties really beat that?

Personally I don't eat either. In fact I rarely eat sweets of any kind - occasionally I buy sarsaparilla tablets, colts foot rock, Victory Vs or fisherman's friends..
Thing is I just don't have a sweet tooth at all. I never eat chocolate bars, cake or biscuits.. So I voted for M&Ms - mostly because if the mood took me I suppose I would eat a peanut M&M - they remind me of Treets! Which I'm guessing don't exist anymore because I haven't seen them in donkey's years..
Question is, how many Smarties would it take to fill the whole of Wembley?

Useless fact of the day - here in Austria Smarties taste slightly different to British ones. For example Austrian Smarties do not contain the orange ones. The chocolate is also a slightly different taste I think. We have recently acquired a Primark in Vienna and as well as Polo mints they also sell British Smarties: UK packaging, all in English and the orange ones are in there.

Smarties were proper additive enhanced sweets from my childhood, so it's Smarties for me. Plus smarties came in a cool tube instead of a bog standard packet.
I cannot eat dairy, so cannot comment on what most chocolate tastes like anymore

I know you said Austria and not Australia, but The chocolate in australia doers taste different to its british counterpart, due to the milk used in it. The grass in Australai is different grass to in the Uk and therfore the milk the cows produce tastes different,so the choc tastes different too..

No fence sitting by me here. It has to be smarties. Although I was never very keen on the blue ones for some reason.

I don't think I ate any chocolate when I went to England. I like the look of the colours of the Smarties better than the M&M colours though if there were two bowls of said sweets at a party I'd probably eat a peanut M&M but there is some 'retro' feeling making me pick Smarties for my vote !

The quickest way through the customs at an aussie airport, is to have something to "declare" so you have to go through the red channel! Just take use your last few bits of sterling short change to buy a kit kat or a mars bar as you leave england, then declare it when you arrive in Oz, as the green channel always has the longer queue!

Smarties every time for me. M&M's contain nuts which I'm allergic to. When I worked at Asda a few years ago, I used to get tubes of Smarties out of the vending machine in the cantine during my breaks.

Useless fact: McDonald's where I am no longer do the Smarties McFlurry and now do their own fake version, McDonald's Chocolate Drops! The are just like Smarties, just marginally smaller.

Smarties. Part of my childhood. Melting the coating in the mouth to get to the chocolate. If it breaks first - try agian. If you succeed - try again.
I don't even know if I ever ate a M&M's.

That's a tough one, as much as I like M&M, Smarties is just as good. I prefer M&M because of all the variations out there.

WHen in London my son and Wife visited an M&Ms store, yes a store dedicated to the selling of M&Ms and a whole load of other tat associated with it. Needless to say I stood outside looking like a homeless person across from it, I try not to encourage that sort of shyte.
By the way peanut M&Ms are what we used to call 'Treats' Just saying
