Really sad news, the hairy bikers were a good cookery show didn’t use poncey ingredients just ordinary cooking that anyone could make, they also done a good program about British pubs, Dave was an interesting interviewee as well. RIP

Often settle on The Hairy Bikers' programmes when channel-hopping. Both seem like really decent, likeable people. It was sad to see Dave clearly suffering with cancer and its treatment in recent programmes, but this still comes as a shock. Sad to see him go. RIP.

Agree with everyone here, this is very sad as he came across as such a nice guy. RIP Dave.

His niceness must have been tested on the James Martin Saturday Kitchen Omelette Challenge (where the object was to make a 3 egg omelette in the quickest possible time). They all ganged up on Dave and had secretly substituted hard boiled eggs for his fresh ones. With hilarious results when he tried to break them into the frying pan. A good Barrow lad, never ashamed of his home town and gone far too early. RIP Dave.

Dave and his pal Si were a good double act who came across as being sincere when on the Telly and not smarmy like many other TV chefs.
As said, gone to son which is usually the way if the good ones.
RIP

Agree with everyone here, this is very sad as he came across as such a nice guy. RIP Dave. So true jno, all the women in production that I know who worked with Dave, said what a nice guy he was when he was working as a Make up Artist early in his career. The other guy, Si King was a Location Manager. Two TV personalities who changed careers very successfully.
