They are also my two favourite tracks of his, although he didn’t get huge attention over here I think the Canadians treated him like a Demi god, listening to the radio about his death didn’t realise so many big stars had sung his songs. RIP

'If You could Read My mind' was one of the regular tracks used by Dom Jolly in 'Trigger Happy TV'. I hadn't heard it before that point and it soon became a favourite of mine, sounded so flowing and natural RIP GL.

'If You Could Read My Mind' was my favorite, of the ones that I know.
R.I.P. Gordon Lightfoot.

RIP Gordon. I was always a big fan of Gordon Lightfoot and had the chance to see him live on his final UK tour in May 2016. My favourite songs are "Song for a Winter's Night" and "The No Hotel", which should be an anthem for anyone travelling for work.
There is an excellent Finnish cover version of "Early Morning Rain" in the latest Aki Kaurismäki film "Fallen Leaves" by an artist called Rauli Somerjoki. Tragically, Somerjoki died at the age of 39 in 1987.
I recommend the film. There are employment practices on display that would make Arthur wince, but overall it is just the thing to brighten a miserable January evening.
