Welsh rugby international Phil Bennet past away earlier this month. I've just been watching some footage of his career playing for Llanelli, Wales and The Barbarians. Bennet initiated the move which led to what is recognised as the best Try ever scored in Rugby Union whilst playing for The Barbarians vs The All Blacks in 1973(?).
Absolute legendary player when the game was at its best for the spectator.
RIP.

RIP Our Phil, been lots on Radio Wales about his passing. I'll confess he's a bit before my rugby watching time but apparently he was into cricket just as much as his rugby and there has been nothing but compliments for him on Radio Wales from all over too.

The player was an absolute legend amongst legends, and led me to maintain my continued preference to follow Wales over England, as a Celtic Cornishman anyway. apparently his team talk before a game against England was completely inspired .
