US character actor with a long and varied career, but probably best known for playing unstable redneck types e.g. The Wild Bunch. When not typecast he could turn in subtle and sympathetic performances as in the oddball western The Ballad of Little Jo.

An instantly recognisable face to us of a certain age. Working steadily until his retirement, he had made a comeback in 2020 and was reading scripts for more roles up until his heart attack 3 weeks ago. RIP

I liked Bo Hopkins. He was in loads of good stuff back in the day, like you say ltd, often playing trigger happy/unhinged redneck types. Still he’s the sort of actor that if I saw his name attached I’d give it a second glance.
R.I.P. Bo

Solid character actor. He was good as Jim Rockford’s lawyer in the later episodes of The Rockford Files. He also pops up in American Graffiti. Always enjoyed his whack job character in The Wild Bunch. One of those actors that never seemed to be out of work. Quite a list of credits.
Rest In Peace.
