I’ll confess, apart some obvious choices, I’ve not seen too much of his output. I quite enjoyed Deadly Pursuit though, although unremarkable for the time I keep returning to that every few years for some reason.
RIP Sid.

Not too familiar with many of his films. That said, I really like "To Sir, With Love".
Clearly a very good actor.

Bar a mention in a billiant early Only Fools and Horses episode, I wasn't really aware of either him or his work until around 3 years ago, when I watched In the Heat of the Night and what a performance. I have seen a few more of his films and undoubtedly a top, top actor.
Actors always bang on about presence and that is something Sidney had in bucketfulls.
RIP Sir

R.I.P. Sidney Poitier.
Of his films,'The Defiant Ones' (1958) with Tony Curtis, 'In The Heat Of The Night' (1967) with Rod Steiger, 'To Sir With Love' (1967) set in London with a host of UK co-stars including Lulu and Judy Geeson, and 'They Call Me Mister Tibbs' (1970) with Martin Landau spring to mind.

A great actor who had a commanding screen presence. I liked his 80s adventure film, Shoot To Kill. RIP Sidney.

In The Heat Of The Night was a real classic. The less said about the late 80's/early 90's tv series the better, I think, but he wasn't involved with that.
