www.BBC.co.uk/sport/formula1/59453378His greatest successes came in the 1980s and 90s with Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, and most famously with Nigel Mansell and latterly Damon Hill. He also oversaw Alain Prost's last championship and Ayrton Senna's short and tragic spell with the team, and its aftermath. I had thought he was much older, probably because of the car crash that left him disabled and aged him prematurely.

Some of the greatest F1 cars through the 80s and 90s. Saw that film about him on Netflix a few years back. A real workaholic and big runner before his crash, he seemed to really struggle with retirement after life in the fastest of fast lanes, and the team was sold last year. That's the showbusiness of Formula 1.

RIP Frank - an F1 great. The Mansell years were superb and thanks to the sponsors a reason I smoked Camel lights for a year or so. Camel full strength were a bit too much for my developing lungs🚬

A unique character, the recent documentary on BBC was brilliant. Had a horrendous accident, and was a very unwell man for a long time.
