He was very much the voice of football on ITV for me in the 70s and 80s. He commentated on some highly memorable Liverpool games, not least the European Cup 1/4 final against St Etienne in ‘77 when Davey Fairclough scored a late winner. He, Brian Moore and Hugh Johns were masters of their craft.
RIP.

He was one of a number of lower profile commentators/presenters, who did the job for years & years without the fanfare of e.g. Coleman, (Dickie) Davies, Bough or Lynam. Barry Davies and Tony Gubba were others, and probably Fred Dineage.
R.I.P. Gerald Sindstadt.

The voice of Sunday afternoon football highlights in Granadaland in the 70s & 80s. Great memories include City and Utd drawing 3-3 at Maine Road in 1971, Liverpool putting 7 past Spurs, Frank Worthington's goal v Ipswich and Big Sam's header v Sunderland. RIP.
