The legendary bassist from ZZ Top has died at the age of 72. Not many bands stay together for 50 years but he, Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard managed it. Eliminator was one of the albums of the 80s and they were very impressive live.
RIP.

They indeed are.....so good:
This takes off furiously after some 1:20 Minutes or so:
And of course the ever great La Grange:
So amazing, the kind of sound they produce with just two guitars and a drumset.

I must admit I did like the singles from the 'Eliminator' album They injected some good old rock riffs into the increasingly cheesy 80s. R.I.P. Dusty Hill.

Last Saturday's Radcliffe and Maconie show, not perhaps ZZ Top's natural constituency, did a nice piece on him including Radcliffe reminiscing about meeting and interviewing the late Mr Hill. Finished with a play of Sharp Dressed Man which seemed appropriate given how striking ZZ Top's visual image was.
