The Bat Out Of Hell composer and writer has died aged 73. He did loads more stuff then Meatloaf, but can't think off the top of my head.
I really don't like his music, but he sold a lot of it and if you grew up in the 70s and 80s there was no escaping it.
RIP Jim

Seminal producer/songwriter, best known for one of the most monumental slabs of work ever committed to vinyl - Bat Out Of Hell by Meatloaf.
If you grew up in rural Ireland in the 1970's/80s you were practically issued with it. RIP

Such sad news. I absolutely love his music and I still have (and still play) his Bad for Good LP and the Pandora's Box LP Original Sin although I do appear to be the only person that liked that one!
He wrote Total Eclipse of the Heart and about a gazillion other songs that a lot of people will have heard, Boyzone covered his "No Matter What" and Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" was also his.
