Upset to learn of his death from Covid19. I loved Cannon and Ball when I was growing up and they still make me laugh now. I've a lot of TV memories from their days on LWT and they're all cherished. I'm a bit choked up to be honest so I'm gonna leave it there
Rock On Tommy

Bobby Ball was also a great actor in his later years he was brilliant as Lee Mack’s dad in not going out

Very sad to have heard this news today. Cannon and Ball were never off the TV screens in the 80s and most of us will remember them with fond memories.
A proper rags to riches tale for both Bobby and Tommy who went from working in factories to national stardom, something which possibly would never happen today.
He did come across as a very funny man and the partnership he had with Tommy was a real one and not one made up for cameras.
Rock on Bobby

The year is 1982 - as a special treat my granny takes myself and my twin brother, both 8 years old, to see "Boys In Blue" at the Cwmbran cinema in South Wales. Loved it. They were all over the telly in the 80s, very funny back then and guaranteed to get a laugh. This is very sad news as to my generation Bobby Ball is the definition of cheeky fun on TV. Rock on Tommy! RIP Bobby, you were great

Sad to hear this news , especially after quite a few of us commented on their name check in The Beloved single , " Hello " , on last week s TOTP . I always loved their shows in the 80s & found them hilarious , especially when Bobby shouted out to some unsuspecting member of the audience " You can shut your face and all !! "
R I P & Rock on !!

Such a well known, instantly recognisable U.K. entertainer. Like many others on here I used to watch Cannon & Ball on telly all the time.
One of my friends had some red and white braces he used to wear to school, they said “Rock on Tommy” on them. Funny the things you remember.
A couple of years ago I watched that clip from ‘The Wheeltappers...’ I think it was their first TV appearance, where Tommy Cannon comes on stage and starts crooning a serious solo number, until it’s rudely interrupted and the audience are subjected to a seemingly unknown Bobby Ball loudly and enthusiastically cheering on ‘his mate’, Tommy, from within their ranks. As the audience call out for him to “shut up, sit down and stop ruining the show”. Bobby becomes noisier and more animated, heckling the audience back and soon getting called up on stage by the apologetic straight man, Tommy. It’s good fun and you’d like to hope a good portion of the audience were genuinely suckered in at first. I certainly think some were.
RIP Bobby.

My late father and me used to laugh helplessly to Cannon and Ball when they were on TV and it was mostly down to Bobby Balls performance. I can picture him now in those oversize, baggy, black trousers and dessert boots whilst stretching out his braces with his thumbs.
Tommy Cannon would grab at him and Ball would wince, saying, "Ooh! You've got me skin!"
When Ball had the stage to himself, he gave the impression that it felt good to be in charge and would always start by saying, 'Ladies-an-genlemen' in an almost slurred voice - just something else I remember.
A very naturally funny man - RIP.

I've seen that clip more than once and it is bloody funny and you're right about the fact that some of the audience genuinely thought he was a heckler. They could both hold a tune too (nice harmonies in particular) Rock On !
