Sad news about the passing of the actor Frank Windsor.
Have to admit, I thought he had passed years ago.
RIP

That's sad news. He was a familiar face on TV as I was growing up.
Can't think what it was for now but wasn't he a regular on TV adverts for something in the late '70s?
RIP.

Very sad, he was great and in a ton of stuff including of course a very significant part in Randall & Hopkirk. In the 80s I remember seeing him in an ITV series called 'Flying Lady', where he retires, buys a roller and starts his own car hire business. I enjoyed that and would like to see it again at some point but I've never seen a repeat. RIP Frank, a job well done sir.

I also fall into the ‘thought he went years ago’ camp but I’m sorry to see him go. Excellent as Sorrensen in Randall & Hopkirk as jno mentions but I’ll probably remember him best from Softly, Softly. RIP.

I had the pleasure of working with Frank on a corporate film for British industrial Sand, it was a huge project probably the biggest corporate I ever did. Frank was the presenter and had pages and pages of dialogue every day. We noticed that sometimes when he dried, he would pick up his script sit down and reread it. So while enjoying a cup of tea one day during a break from filming I asked him about this, I said: "you reel off pages and pages at a time which is amazing but, every now and again you dry and sit and reread the script". He said:" I learn the script and as I deliver the lines they really leave my mind, so if I make a mistake I have to relearn the words and it is just a matter of re-reading them." An amazing ability and interesting to learn how an actor deals with lines.
A really genuinely nice man, a very competent actor and an actor who was a genuine part of the crew, not just a lovey who was there to satisfy his own ego. RIP Frank from an old Grip who was proud to have worked along side of you.
